People thinking they are saved already? "For we are saved if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end," Of course saved means different things to "Little children, because you are forgiven," to "Fathers, because you know the Father," to "Young men because you are strong and know the word of God and have overcome the evil one." Would you like to be in this last group, then don't consider to have attained," and be ready to suffer with Christ, "All that live godly shall suffer persecution".
I believe I am saved already and I believe God will keep saving me and I expect that He will be with me during my joys and sorrow.

Isn't that what faith and true relationship is about?

Yep....and plenteous in number will be the group that comes before him boasting in all their works in his name while claiming to know Jesus......they get cast from his presence because they attempted a different door than faith....the same thing he speaks of is the same dogma pushed by many on this site....a working for café blend of faith and works for salvation....

It cannot be a coincidence............!!
Yes works salvation is evil cafe blend....

Easy believism is dung covered candy.

Why would anyone defend either?

Easy believism teaches that you are saved based solely on your own ability to believe certain truths about Jesus Christ (mental ascent) and how you live your life, no matter... how sinful, does not compromise one's belief.
The OP defines how to be saved thusly

scripture teaches that one is saved by placing complete trust (faith) in Christ and his word, resulting in a believer understanding that he or she is absolutely powerless to do anything to save themselves. Because their eternal destiny rests squarely upon the shoulders of Jesus Christ,

2 Corinthians 1:10 - who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us. :)

Obviously, there's a few trying deceitful methods to pick a fight, Galatians2-20.

Yeah, they don't like the truth.
:)
context
paul is talking to apostle peter not to gentiles. (who is jewish)

Justified by Faith
15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners;16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ

And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Apparently Christian Chat doesn't give you much time to edit anymore. After re-reading my post, I noticed a few issues but could not figure out how to edit.
:)You can copy paste the OP Into another place, delete the thread before the 5 minute mark and go over the thread that you have copy pasted and make corrections, additions are whatnot

And then once you have It the way you want It,copy paste It to a new thread,of course this could all be avoided by proofreading the first thread before submitting It.:)

Only one gospel saves for both Jews and gentiles.

.I am not sure why it matters if Paul is speaking to jew or gentile unless you believe in dual covenant theology?

My bible teaches me I am saved this way....so....believe what you will....

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

If you believe in your heart that God has raised him fro the dead thou shalt be saved.

He that believes on the son is having everlasting life.

If you confess me before men I will confess you before my Father which is in Heaven.

BE not removed from the SIMPLICITY that is found IN CHRIST

And how exactly is that different from this statement?

to keep it short

there had to be start of the new covenant ,being put in place in the first place.

8 (for he who worked through Peter for his apostolic ministry to the circumcised worked also through me for mine to the Gentiles).

it matters ,you could ask todays jewish religion or sects, that continue in the old covenant, how do they get forgiveness of sin. with no temple of stone to take an animal too.

someone had to tell others ,about a saviour, and that had to first start, in the history of the bible, then it was there choice to believe in that. now you have a one world belief system in place, for all mankind. to keep it short.

6 he says:
"It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
I will make you as a light for the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth."Isaiah 49

There is no such thing as easy believism....end of story.....this concept has been embellished by any and all who add something/anything to faith to acquire and or maintain salvation...end of story

Mental assent without heart change is easy believism.

I know you don't believe it but some people have been fooled.

The word of Faith movement would be an example.

The scriptures quoted do not display this MENTAL ASSENT that you speak of.....either one believes or one does not believe to the saving of the soul....end of story....

and will add....any change to the HEART is a process of sanctification after salvation (Romans 12:1-2)

It takes a child like faith to be saved and then a process of growth and maturity to change the believer into the image of Christ....

Hmm.. the Easy Believism controversy continues..... To the OP it will mainly be a thread of peoples opinions. There will not be much from God's Word shared here unfortunately or should I say the complete Word (all of God's Words) will not be considered by many.

God bless you

***

People can have mental assent and verbal confession without truly believing in their hearts.

.true or false?

****

Anyway I have been doing more research on the term and it seems that some people have used it to asault the true gospel message. However as the OP defines it, I agree with him.
.how other twist it and add works, is on them.

sure....I quoted that verse.....the MIND is where decisions are made....and it requires a child like faith......how much faith is that.....less than a mustard seed which removes Mount Fuji and casts it into the sea.........if one has it!

So for you there is no difference between your mind and your heart?

What is the difference between a demons faith in Jesus and a believers?

Demons called Jesus the Son of God too.
