Looks like there are many new laws in 2025 in different states ranging from gun control, police training, marijuana, driving and a few others.
I'll try to mention a few later in the days but feel free to add anything you think it's worth discussing.

Legislation never ends. Decades ago, I looked at the matter and recall an article that said there were in excess of 3million laws on the books in the US. Men don't have the capacity to keep 10 or 9 well.

Some specifics about guns are listed here : https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2024/12/31/new-gun-laws-2025/76801497007/, where you can see that based on Red State vs Blue State the gun issue is treated as a team sport and in no way does any politician treat this as a humane issue which involves lives lost, suffering and grief for the families.
This is evident from this left-leaning person's comments from the article:

America’s gun violence epidemic is not inevitable, it is the logical outcome of lawmakers’ callous inaction in service to the gun lobby," Monisha Henley, senior vice president for government affairs at Everytown for Gun Safety, told USA TODAY in a statement. “As we head into the New Year, not a single consequential law rolling back our progress on gun safety will go into effect, but countless laws making our communities safer will. As we head into 2025 one thing remains clear: gun safety isn’t just good policy, it’s good politics.”

gun safety isn’t just good policy, it’s good politics - she says.
WOW.

Yes, it was, And, about citizenships and how we Christians are all involved in both earthly politics and the Word of God by being in the world but not of the world. I don't agree that we're neutral here.
And about the fact that because Christians have not applied GW to politics very much or well through the ages, at this point we may be in deep doo-doo per the Steve Bannon War-room show on RAV television today, which covered the following:

AI, dark enlightenment, techno-feudalism/fascism, universal subsistence income, DAVOS/WEF, indentured serfdom, trans-humanism, human replacement by robots, humanity 2.0, the singularity or point of no return, becoming God-like, Red Caesarism, love of profit, etc.

(Do we have your attention yet? :^(

Oh no no no, Christians applying God's word to politics is a phenomenon that's called "Christian Nationalism" in modern times, but this phenomenon has existed many times in history. The most famous time was during The Crusades, but for any other clear-minded person, Christian or non-Christian the values of a territory or nation are to be preserved in a "balance" until that balance is broken to tip the scales which then self-correct itself due to the reaction of the citizens. Christian or non-Christian alike.

It would be interesting to find a traffic law that that would lead someone to disobey God.
It involves God's command to obey good rulers in RM 13:1-7 and those rulers making laws to not go more than 30 mph on a street when 35 mph would be essentially as safe. Do you obey such laws? If not, then aren't you disobeying God?

(Hope I am not talking with a little old grandma :^)

No, Christians NOT applying GW to politics is the phenom that has existed throughout post-NT history, and a good example is Xians not evangelizing the Middle East, so knowledge of Christ and Paul's teachings was lacking at the time Mohammed lived, which gave him the opportunity to misconstrue Xianity as teaching polytheism and X as a mere prophet and to completely ignore Paul's epistles, which allowed Islam to gain a foothold from which it spread by forced conversions until it conquered across north Africa and into Spain until Charles Martel stopped them at the Pyrenees Mountains, and across Asia Minor into Austrian until it was stopped at Vienna.

Then occurred the feeble attempts of the crusades to at least recover the Holy Land, followed by the spread of Islam eastward into India and the Far East and southward into south Africa, which eventually allowed Islamists to attack the U.S. on 9-11-01 and to infiltrate Europe via lax immigration enforcement, so that Europe is threatened again. (Need I say more about this phenom? :^)

No, Christians who misinterpret scripture based on their addictions of "a thing" are the reasons which cause disagreement and wars.
Because when you have Christians who misinterpret scripture shaped on Michelangelo-based culture, trying to convince people in Gengis Khan cultures, of course you will have disagreements and wars when one party comes in with a holier-than-you attitude.
And of course when you don't have God's authority to even do a miracle to convince the masses, all you are left with are the confused words of a fool from the POV of Gengis Khan.

Maybe, and perhaps probably, but Christians should always try to be part of the solution rather than give up trying and enter the monastery or convent of cynicism.

Good point major.
I think the lesson here is that all Christians worldwide should become American and wear American flag boots, American flag pants, American flag shirts and American flag hats.

So what else is happening in the world of politics today brother?
I haven’t seen anything very interesting despite all the wars, shootings, theft and the usual shenanigans.

Today the Republicans barely re-elected Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House, so on Monday the Congress will be able to begin confirming President Trump's nominees for the various cabinet positions and be on schedule to save this country, so that people worldwide will continue to have reasons to admire America rather than lamenting it for sliding into Marxism-fascism under the Dems. Yay!

Amen brother!
I have been waiting too for this American season with Trump in charge and so far I’ve been very pleased with the action and reactions from the left. Maybe they’ll learn something, maybe they won’t but the show hasn’t even started yet.
By the way a lot of people admire America despite who’s running the show so the important thing is that we’re all having a good experience.

There would not have been an America worth admiring after another four years of the Dems, because they would have been able to rig elections and put opponents in jail until things got so bad that enough citizens felt compelled to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights before we went lower than Europe like they sorta did in Albania!

Hopefully enough Americans have wised up enough so that will not happen, but it will take firing/retiring the Marxist profs in academia as well as in the deep state agencies such as the CIA and FBI, but it might be easier to corral the CCP!

I agree with you 100% that we need to fire woke professors from schools in order to avoid a second civil war, with or without the second amendment.
This is what i hope Trump will accomplish in the next 4 years.
I had enough of the woke show, it's becoming too serious. The country needs a change so they voted for a change.

100%?! :^)

The House will rest on its laurels over the weekend and then begin confirming the cabinet, hopefully beginning with Kash Patel, who knows the innards of the deep state as well as anyone on our side.

Then RFK and then the DOGE folks, God willing! :^)

Today let us note that atheists apply Satan's Lies (SL) to politics, and the lie that went "a bridge too far" in the demonic/insane direction is that it is possible and desirable to change a person's gender. Finally it is becoming clearer that some perversions are mental illnesses if not sins!

GW that God created humanity with two genders/sexes, male and female, won a round in the bout (yay!), but the fight is continuing.
