I have only recently decided to allow god into my heart, I’ve always believed but have always known that if I choose this path there would be no turning back. That thought frightened me… it still does. My name is Daniel and I accept Jesus Christ as my lord and saviour, I am 40 years old and living in Australia.

Welcome DanielNSW.
It sounds like you might not be sure, so I'll share a short message on the subject.
The only reason I can think of that you might be frightened is because someone gave you a misunderstanding about salvation. Discipleship and salvation are two different things. Jesus had disciples that suffered and gave up a lot and worked a lot in the ministry. That's a follower who is already in the family, growing, leading others to Christ and in ministries.
However, to be saved it does not cost us anything.
It cost Jesus His life.
To be saved from the wages of sin, you receive the gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

He already paid for that gift.
You don't give your life.
The Father gave His only begotten Son.
Jesus gave His life a Ransom for us all.
Please prayerfully listen to the follow message and it might be more thorough.

you will never regret your decision! God bless and keep you!

start reading the Bible. by yourself. let God speak to you through His Word.

i did this when i came to Christ, and reading the Word made it easier to understand what God was really like and how much He loves us!

@DanielNSW : Good work, brother! Oh, and welcome, fellow Aussie!

Thank you all for the kind words and I will take this advice to heart, I can appreciate the difference between salvation and discipleship though I hadn’t considered it that way. In truth I’m unsure what to do next, how to find out which church I should attend and such. I’m proud of my decision to accept Christ and I’m also well aware of how many people I will automatically alienate from my life, I think this is the part that scares me.

Hello Daniel, welcome. My name is Peter and I live in Melbourne. I was saved in Sydney over 50 years ago. I can promise you two things: first, it will be the best decision you will ever make. Second, you will have problems from time.

The good news is that you do not have to face your troubles alone. Jesus loves you enough to die in your place. He will enable you to overcome whatever comes your way. Trust Him with your life. He's been helping people since we were created. He's good at it.

I don't understand the meaning of your title then, "Yet to be Saved."

A lot of people assume that someone understands without asking, Do you think there is anything you can do to become unsaved?

To be clear what I mean is that despite believing in god and Christ for a long time I hardened my heart against accepting their love into my life. Without going into detail I will say I lived and still live a difficult life, for a long time I blamed god but I’m stronger now… time and time again god reached out for me and I slapped his hand away I don’t feel like I have the right to ask his forgiveness or to be saved.

Based on your introductory post I would say that rather than not yet saved that salvation has come to you by the choice you made to accept the saving grace of God.

You are correct in saying that there is no turning back.

Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Hi DanielNSW, nice to meet and welcome you to the CC fellowship! You know what, we do have the right to be saved and forgiven because Jesus' sacrifice has enough power to cover us all the way. Who would be left standing if we counted ourselves out with every error we make...nobody😊🙌 God bless you, have fun browsing the Forums🙏

Thank you for saying so, I’m yet to go beyond the introductions as I haven’t felt I had any right

There is indeed no turning back I don’t know how else to explain this feeling, I can feel something real that’s the only way I can say it.
