Would you marry a Catholic?

Assuming most of you are non Catholic. And would I marry a non Catholic?
Well Im married to a non Christian now.
If you dont mind Im going to use the word Protestant in this thread.
I would marry a Protestant. But I would be concerned about a few things:
if they were too zealous (not jealous)
they would need a sense of humour about all theologies and themselves
I would have to be free to be Catholic but would be happy of course to visit their Church
 
LDS would be a concern. i dont want to volunteer for them knocking on doors.

Me too! I knew at the time I was not following the word of God, but my own desires. I should have been more patient until she became a believer. She got saved in our first year of marriage, praise the Lord. We’ve been married now for 26 years, and she is an unbelievable follower of Christ.

You think you're surprised? My Baptist parents were too. Then they met him. He had hair below his shoulders. Gorgeous wavy full thick hair, and a beard. Funny thing is, at the reception a woman on our side of the table, friend not family member , said, oh my David, you look like Jesus!
Mom turned white.

Dad turned red. :mad:
It was a happy mix because David and I were both standing there blushing as David said very politely, aw, thank you hun, and gave her a hug. He's over six feet tall so her little wide eyes and tiny smiling face just made you smile as she said it. :giggle:

I have a wife waiting for me, she is Catholic from the Philippines. It's been a growing experience to be in the unity of the Spirit. Much can be said here: we are divided and cause division as we think like men in the flesh. It's unavoidable until we grow in Love; neither can we bring about change, and now that we are entering the final battle the conflict over divisions get worse in the Church. I admire your patience here. I met my Lady here but she stoped coming because of the quarels. I wonder what to do as well, knowing it will get worse. I'm refering to the falling away before the end when "They will no longer endure sound teaching."

We eloped because I refused to get married in the Catholic Church.

The issue would be more critical for the Catholic since the RCC does not approve of Catholics marrying non-Catholics unless the latter are willing to convert to Catholicism. In any event there would be serious issues down the road, since there is a huge difference in beliefs.

we got married in a catholic church. if we had had kids my wife would havge been happy for them to be raised Catholic
 
i think some of you might want to say this:
" yes . as long as they are willing to become born again and sola scriptura".

If you weren't Catholic would the two of you have been allowed to have a traditional Catholic wedding? We weren't because I wasn't Catholic. And like you, I wasn't going to convert. Which was fine with Dave. But his family was a bit put off by that.
