Pleases pray for my grandson Damien, he is 18 still in high school and had goals to go to college and study to be a physist or engineer then all of sudden he’s having around bad crowd, doesn’t care about school or hoods family (I helped raise him and his twin and siblings) he now wants to join the marines out of the blue but only for the reasons that his friends ares joining and he says it sounds interesting to use weapons. Now to me that doesn’t song like a good reason to want to join the marines, it’s a big step and I don’t think he’s mature enough or ready for that for those reasons. I pray Jesus will guide him in the right direction and I have faith everything will work out according to Gods will but I’m still worried and I can’t talk to him because he’s very difficult to talk to. I don’t know what to do and I fell that me telling him not to join sounds selfish but it’s a gut feeling that this is not for him at least not right now. The recruiter he’s been talking to is rushing him to do things to enlist and obviously making everything to him sound fun and interesting. I pray Jesus hears my heart especially when something just doesn’t feel right about this.

Father! Touch Damien!! Move on him and allow him to hear You so he can make wise choices! Father You know his heart and You know what he needs in this hour. We put all our trust and confidence in You as You deal with this situation! You are in control of all of our lives, even when it looks like things are a mess! (we all have to make our own choices. God uses our failures to draw us to Him. God makes sure that for those who are called "all things work together for good")

Father thank you for a praying grand mother! We all know the power of those prayers! Touch this grandma and bless her prayers to Your best purpose!!! Amen!

Joining the military is a good opportunity for mature growth, and learning valuable social and communication skills. I don't see any downside to joining the military and highly recommend it as a stepping stone to a brighter future.

Maybe you can write him a letter...Express your concerns to him that way...After all , no one can resist reading a personal letter , who knows , he make pick it up numerous of times and re-read it...If all fails , pray and leave it in Gods hands ...

Do you think this is Gods will and his way of helping him? I have prayed and cried out to Jesus before for him because he is hanging around a bad crowd, smoking bad things and doing bad things and asked for help and I’m wondering if this is the answer

The military would teach him discipline, give him structure, and probably pay for his college later if he still wants to go.
So there can be an upside.
But that doesn't mean it's the right decision for him... what you do with you life is highly personal.
Is he a Christian? Is he saved?

He use to go to church with me and his twin and siblings but stopped when he started hanging around bad crowd, he started putting it down and his twin that is Christian and saved but he himself says now that church is not for him and he doesn’t consider himself any religion and is not saved. Which breaks my heart but I can’t force him. I tried to raise him and siblings in the way of the Lord but he strayed

I did and he just made fun of me and said I was trying to manipulate him and being weird. He never use to be like this, he use to be so sweet and loving and caring, he changed a lot when he started hanging out with certain friends and I started to sense that the enemy had a hold on him so I pray for him daily and he started to get better but then changed again.

Joining the United States Marines is a better option than joining a gang.
