That's exactly how i feel. Like no more marriage ? What's the point of getting married then ? only to lose your wife in heaven. People like to say (referring to husbands and wives) " we will meet each other in heaven" but really you won't be married in heaven anymore. And i agree about the lack of sun and night. I personally love sunsets and sunrises, but for God to take them away seems unreasonable.
so you should marry someone who you will not be separated from, but who will also be in glory with you.
and so you should marry someone who you are grateful for the brief time to be with, not thinking a wife is greater than our Lord - not as though to no longer be married is like a punishment: for the LAMB is our true Husband; He is our fiancée. look to marry someone whose real betrothed Groom is Jesus.

God didn't intend us to curse Him in marriage. we are to be thankful, and glorify Him in it - even knowing it is for earth, not heaven: or else we should not marry at all. do not sin against God for the sake of an human partner. marriage is a gift from God, and every gift from Him testifies of Him, and lifts Him up, because it is good. because He is good

I was just thinking today, about the new heavens and earth. It's going to be pretty crazy. No sun- which means there's not really a "solar system" either. Some things are almost a turn-off for me. No night? Daytime all the time sounds pretty horrible to me. I'm a twilight kind of person (no, not the movie- don't even.)
Not needing sleep will be nice though... I won't miss the feeling of sleep deprivation. I do wonder if "working out" will be a thing... will our new bodies even get tired??? Because I do kind of like the feeling of working/working out and getting tired from that. Some things in this life are somewhat rewarding, but will no longer be.
The bible doesn't say much about the next life, but what it does say isn't actually all that appealing to me, except for Jesus being there.
I am just trusting God that it will somehow be to my liking to be there.
We live in a fallen world that is grossly mismanaged and the Lord still manages to provide nice things for us- so there has to be better things in the world to come.
The bible does not say there will be no sun only that the New Jerusalem will not be in need of the sun for light because of the presence of God. I believe that our new bodies will get tired and sleep will be needed. I believe that there will be occupations and money or a form of money will be earned. In Revelations it states that there will be new heavens and a new earth. To me, new heavens means stars and planets and whatever else is in space.

I personally love sunsets and sunrises, but for God to take them away seems unreasonable. And no sea ? i like beach houses and driving up the coast in my convertible, but once again God has denied us the right to do that in the future. I don't care for gold streets or mansions with diamonds and gold in them, i just want a decent house with my 5-10 cars and a beautiful wife that will love me. But in heaven that's seeming like more of a dream rather then reality.
Here is the thing about marriage. Marriage is a contract between the consenting party of a man, a woman and officiated by God. It is valid and enforceable until death of one or the other.

In our new life in eternity there will be no more death so therefore there will be no more marriage. That does not mean that there will not be intimate enduring relationships between a male and a female.

In Isaiah it mentions the planting of gardens and building of homes in heaven. If there are no romantic intimate relationships then I certainly am not going to go to the bother of building a home and planting a garden if I am the only one living there. I would rather live in a box and go dumpster diving for food.

Reasonably certain that there is going to be oceans and mountains too, not in the New Jerusalem but elsewhere in the new earth. If not, I'm going to another planet to live.

Exactly, who cares about streets paved with gold. I prefer streets paved with asphalt. Pedal to the metal my friend. Born to be wild.

Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create...
Could you site that verse ? I feel like i've heard that before.

I think that the relevance of cars won't be much...where they might be there...what happens when you find something else that you like working on and with more and cars just don't hold your attention anymore?
Don't know anything else i like

Referring to another post that someone else posted, I too would enjoy a sex life, but without marriage what's the point ? Why would God even create marriage only to take it away ? Some say because there's no reason to procreate in heaven, but why not just remove that ability to reproduce ? Just leave sex for pleasure and nothing more. And i'm not cursing God or saying a wife is greater then him. Just that to take someones wife, whom they've spent nearly their whole lives with, seems unfair and IMO mean for no reason.

Exactly my point. We don't and can't know exactly what heaven is like. Paul caught a view and said that words really couldn't describe what he saw.

That's my point....as much as you like cars (which I don't mind tinkering with myself) ...what if there is something better that you will like but you got yourself stuck working on cars.

It's just simply prudent to leave your options open.

But in the meantime...I wouldn't mind finding a car frame and building myself a custom and unique car from the frame up. Maybe a truck to go with too.

this is a great mystery, that the Church is the betrothed bride, the 'fiancée' of Christ. that He ordained marriage, and created sex, but said there will not be marrying or giving in marriage in the resurrection.
i really don't have an answer for you.

i've been deeply in love with a particular woman for my whole life, and that is without doubt from God, but what does that mean about what the two of us will be in heaven? i really don't know. i know we will know each other, and that every pure desire we've ever had for each other ((not talking about lust)) will be fulfilled. we will be friends. we will be able to enjoy each other. we will rejoice in God for each other & with each other. what that means, really? only God knows.

all i can tell you is be thankful for what God has given you in this life. remember Him in all of it, and stay as far away as you can from everything that He warns you about: and understand that no relationship you will ever have with any other person on earth can compare with the relationship God is building with you. He comes first, and His love is greater

You all are overthinking heaven. Heaven (the Kingdom) is coming to earth. Outside of New Jerusalem, earth will still have everything it has now. You might enjoy a pet or many but I don't think we'll need transportation (a collection, maybe). I was looking forward to flying silently to wherever I wanted. We will be spirits, but will we still desire sex like we do now? I do not know, but it might be something even better. I don't think we will think the same as we do now.

We won't just sit on a stump playing a harp as some have predicted. We will co-rule the entire universe with God. How about ruling your own planet with all the animals and people there? Now that sounds exciting. Maybe just a few cities would be enough. Luke 19:17 "And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities."

I'm a car enthusiast, and am wondering if cars will be in heaven. I personally don't believe there will be and that makes me less excited, but I still rather be in heaven (even if I'm not as happy) then here or hell. What do y'all think ?
The earth also becomes the new heaven, so the future looks bright, I just wonder what type of fuel it will be, if its eternal fuel ie no money needed then even better, lol

Of course people are over thinking heaven, who in their right minds wants to continue being stuck on earth with all its problems.??
Truth is we just can't wait to go.

Not really....
The road to heaven goes right through the heart of hell on Earth.

I'm just going to try and hide in my cave for a bit longer.

The earth, with all it's problems, isn't going away. Many scriptures tell us of a changed but permanent earth.

Psa. 78:69 "And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever."
Psa. 119:90 "Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth."
Psa. 104:5 "Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever."
Ecc. 1:4 "One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever."

Isa. 65:17 "For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind."
Rev. 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."

Well their is some truth to that, I mean for the Christian this Earth is the only hell we are ever going to know, and for the lost this Earth is the only heaven they are going to know.

Tell Fred and Barney I said hi lol.

When he says he is going to make it brand new, doesn't that mean he is going to create it brand new from scratch? in the same way he created this one in the first place before the fall in the Garden of eden?

Yeah I though so too.
