What about these? Is this an example of Sabbath promotion?
It is not an example of doing away with the Sabbath.
Christ said it was ok to do good on the Sabbath, Christ also said

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one,
that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Christ also said he did not come to do away with the law,
and if you teach others this you would be least in His kingdom

I'm not claiming that the Sabbath was changed to Sunday.
The Sabbath is still the seventh day. Ask any Jew.
Yes Sabbath still blessed, but satan hijacked sunday as the worlds day of rest

What's your point?
Is sin transgression of the law ?
Is the law holy, and the commandments holy?

Do we nullify the law because we have faith in Jesus Christ ?
Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace?
Do we then turn the grace of our God into lasciviousness ?

There we go. That's a manageable size post.

Is sin transgression of the law ?
The writer says sin is ALSO a transgression of the law. (what else?)
The passage is about sin, not about the law.
Sin was in the world before the law was given. (Rom.5:13)

Is the law holy, and the commandments holy?
The word is singular in that verse. "commandment". (Rom.7:12 KJV)
Which one?

Do we nullify the law because we have faith in Jesus Christ ?
No, our faith in Christ actually upholds the law. (Rom.3:31)
But this doesn't mean we are living according to the law.
This means we are living according to faith in Jesus Christ.

Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace?
Of course not. But what point is the Apostle making here?
He is being accused of the same thing you are accusing me of.
So, I'm in pretty good company. Who are you with?

Do we then turn the grace of our God into lasciviousness ?
No, I'm not flirting with you. lol

My turn. @prove-all

1) By whom were the Galatians being bewitched? (Gal.3:1)

2) What point is the Apostle making in this passage about Hagar and Sarah?
The passage begins and ends with these two verses.

Galatians 4:21, 31
21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? ...
31 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

3) What are "the works of the law"?
See Rom.3:20, 27-28; Gal.2:16; Gal.3:1-5, 10.

Are you claiming that we are under the law and not grace?
What he has is salvation by "grace plus law, faith plus works."
Subtle mixture of law and grace which is a perversion of the gospel. (Galatians 1:6-9) :cautious:

Twice in that scripture the Apostle says, "... let them be under God’s curse!" (double emphasis)
These are some very sobering words. Or they should be.

I sadly regret Shaul Paul never heard Jesus when He taught "not been called rabbi or father"...

It seems Paul wanted to be cherrished as a dad, so he called "many" as His children and, no doubts such -desire to be loved, to be an awful transgression of Jesus' commands (Matt 23)

Jesus told His disciples to sell their properties and give alms; told them to wash (literally) one another's feet; to obey the scribes and Pharisees; perform sacrifices according to the Law; etc. Through His personal example Jesus taught us to keep the Sabbath and observe the festivals.

Jesus said: whoever breaks one of the least of the commandments and teaches people to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.

The Lord (while He was on earth) also said that only a few will be saved and yet we all seem to ignore it. Why?
it is not known to man who the few are. it is what Jesus told man to do that is where we need to obey. Jesus said GO!

Why, hm what about being stubborn and rebellious. Jesus washed the disciples feet, in and as an example, he said, " to be abased, and not arrogant, humble, and not high minded, not prediced. He said more to it, he said you have no part with me in the kingdom, if you don't. More on it, in the New Testament, the greatest shall be the servant. Predice, stands out many times. Christ said, if a well dressed man enters your temple, church, and you seat him up front, while the shabby one, you sit in the back. This is a sin. Sin separates us from God. When DAvid prayed, create in me a clean heart oh God. People ask what is a clean heart. The book of acts, says, it is not easy being a christian. Putting the flesh, and the old nature, of rebellion, and stubbornness, under control. Washing feet, is a physical act. But God see's the heart, and it is the act of being spiritually tamed, and not sowing the wild oats, of the flesh. Any wonder it says, surely the spirt is willing, but the flesh is weak. This is why it says, some things cannot be overcome but with prayer, and FASTING. A decision you make to put your flesh, in subjection, and in control. This is the first step. Another answer to why don't believers, do what it says. LIke peer pressure, and influences. No one is perfect, and at the start of a day, and the end of the day, it could be ending very not good, so we ask for forgiveness, repent, and try again, to stay in the Fruit of the Spirit of Christ.

No he has not sold everything he owns.......he still has his computer.

Jesus was making a point, that you will never live up to God's standards.

His ministry was during the time of the Law.

Do you love God? Or does your god have to conform to your image.
Do you love your neighbor as yourself?
Those two things fulfill the Law.

The new age religion interpretations of the Bible seemed to earnestly begin in the 1960's. It is miss leading many. Be careful not to be controlled by it or you will pay the ultimate price while in eternity.
Such teachings as...are included;

OSAS..live the life style you wish
Baptism not required.
Super Grace
Repentance not required
All will be saved..Univeralism
Same sex marriage is ok
Homosexuality is ok

...and other absurd teachings...with more on the way.

I agree with you! But taking Jesus' words (before the cross) as a reinterpretation of the law of Moses is very different from following the New Age Religion. We don't have to give away our property, don't have to keep the Sabbath, don't have to perform sacrifices, etc., but we have to follow Paul and the other apostles.

Jesus had twelves disciples representing the twelve tribes of Israel...they were ALL Israelites. They were to be apostles - the ones sent to share the gospel to all of Israel. Only one, Judas, betrayed him. Then when Jesus ascended he chose one more Israelite to share the gospel with the Gentiles - those who were not Israelites, from all other nations. The gentiles were not circumcised and they did not observe the OT laws because they were outside of Israel. This person was Paul. If you recall he went on lots of missionary journeys around the mediterraenan to reach to those who didnt speak Hebrew, who might have never even heard of God before.

PAul shared with the gentiles about Jesus but also the gentiles were not under the law, because they never had that mosaic covenant that was given to the Isrealites. Instead the gentiles are given grace. Because Jesus was an Israelite he observed all the law and customs the jewish people had, he did it so perfectly he put the others to shame. But he also wanted to reach those who were not Israelites to be a light to the gentiles. Observing the OT laws was actually for many people became a heavy burden not everyone could keep. jesus simplified the laws to just two...love God and Love thy neighbour as you love God (in a nutshell) and by his spirit to write them on our heart.

I wouldnt say christians ignore Jesus teachings but Jesus tsught in a jewish context. He was living in iSrael at the time he showed by example how the law was meant to be fulfilled. For those outside of Israel and did not walk with Jesus because he had ascended they were kind of outside the law, it never having been given to them in the first place.

If this makes sense!!

We keep the Sabbath through entering His rest and cease from our meritorious works. Remember, 'it is finished'?
OK, help me out here, show me the scriptures that say we should not keep the Sabbath. Let me help you out here a little...

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

word for rest here is.

σαββατισμός
sabbatismos
sab-bat-is-mos'
Means a keeping of the Sabbath.

Thayer Definition:
1) a keeping sabbath

Show me the scriptures that say we should not keep the Sabbath and that Jesus is our Sabbath and His rest is some spiritualized thing not the seventh day Sabbath.

It's right there. It is clearly talking about how the promise land was not the rest that remains still to be had. We will get it in the consummation.

8For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another time later on. 9Consequently,s there remains a Sabbath celebration for the people of God. 10For whoever enters God’s rest has also rested from his own work, as God did from his. 11Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest; otherwise, one of you might perish through the same example of disobedience.

In v 9 the writer repeats the conclusion of v 6a, but the term σαββατισμός is substituted for the characteristic term κατάπαυσις. The formal parallelism suggests that the substitution is meant to define more precisely the character of the future rest promised to the people of God (Hofius, Katapausis, 106). If it had been the writer’s intention to say only “there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God” (cf. RSV, NEB, NIV), he could have retained the word κατάπαυσις. In v 4 he had associated κατάπαυσις with God’s rest on the seventh day, and he undoubtedly knew that the word was used for the Sabbath rest in the LXX (Exod 35:2; 2 Macc 15:1). The deliberate choice of σαββατισμός, which finds its earliest occurrence in extant Greek literature here, must have been dictated by the fact that it conveyed a nuance not found in κατάπαυσις.

The term σαββατισμός appears to have been coined from the cognate verb σαββατίζειν, “to observe/to celebrate the Sabbath.” In its only occurrence in non-Christian literature (Plutarch, Concerning Superstition 3 [Moralia 166 A]), the term signifies Sabbath observance. In four other documents from the patristic period that are independent of Heb 4:9, the term denotes the celebration or festivity of the Sabbath (Justin, Dialogue with Trypho 23.3; Epiphanius, Against All Heresies 30.2.2; The Martyrdom of Peter and Paul, chap. 1; ApostConst 2.36.2; discussed by Hofius, Katapausis, 103–6). The term received its particular nuance from the Sabbath instruction that developed in Judaism on the basis of Exod 20:8–10, where it was emphasized that rest and praise belong together (cf. 2 Macc 8:27; Jub. 50:8; Ps-Philo, Bib. Ant. 11.8). The term σαββατισμός stresses the special aspect of festivity and joy, expressed in the adoration and praise of God (cf. Hofius, Katapausis, 106–10; Losada, RevistB 36 [1974] 127). In v 9 this nuance defines the character of the promised rest awaiting the people of God in the consummation. The assertion in v 10 stands in a causal relationship to v 9 and clarifies why in the eschatologial rest a σαββατισμός will be possible.

Whoever has entered the consummation-rest will experience the completion of his work, as did God after the creation (vv 3c–4), and will enjoy the rest that is necessary for the festivity and praise of a Sabbath celebration. In conjunction, vv 9–10 anticipate the festival of the priestly people of God in the heavenly sanctuary, celebrating in the presence of God the eternal Sabbath with unceasing praise and adoration
