I never claimed to be one of the twelve disciples.

Claiming that he was speaking only to the twelve disciples, and that it did not apply outside of that context would not agree with the rest of the chapter.

I don't think you would say the same thing about the following verses.
 
I had an evil spirit cast out of me in the name of Jesus Christ, and I completely changed as a person overnight. That doesn't happen under islam, buddism, hinduism, etc.
 
I was born and raised in a Christian family. My parents were missionaries to Peru and Colombia for many years. I accepted Jesus Christ in the year 2002. After being in Peru for a while, I was now in the U.S. and started to ask questions at middle or high school age about Jesus to my mom, about why Jesus had to die and stuff. She answered it but I still didn't get it. I went to church one Sunday and my pastor said pretty much the same things that my mother said and the Holy Spirit touched and I had a spiritual feeling and started to cry. At high school age, I was baptized. That is when the problems began. I got stuck on pornography and junk. I thought I was fine for awhile. Then, I started to feel an emptiness of me and I cried out to Jesus to save me. He did. Sadly, I still have some dangerous effects from porn in my mind. I am still a work in progress. But thank you Jesus. After that craziness, I read The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel and realized the historical truth about Christianity and even that the Bible had scientific insights before the scientists them. In the book of Isaiah, it mentions how the earth is circular. In Ecclesiastes it describes the water cycle. Also, how nothing in archaeology has been found to show that the Bible is false and everytime someone thought they found it, it always dated way after the Bible was in circulation. That is my testimony and why I believe that Christianity is beyond religion, is the true religion, and the way of life I want to keep on practicing and living for Jesus until he calls me home to heaven.
