I would think he tuned his back as a matter of saying... "no one can see the face of God as to the hidden glory of God and live". That glory as the holy unseen place of God will not be revealed until the new heavens and earth appear.

Ultimately we walk by faith the unseen eternal. He is our hiding place

I think we are all entitled to a opinion as a privte interpretation .But if we try and make His interpretation ours I think we could find us in trouble .
