In my estimation, for what it is worth, it is very important that we obey, for it is the Holy Mark of one who possesses True Salvation. The below text shows that a Child of God [will] become more like Christ, and the point of that statement means Obedience.
2 Corinthians 3:14-18 KJV - "But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
Now, either these Scriptures are True or they are a lie. I hope we agree that they are to be read as True and accurate. So, if they are True, then a True Child of God [will] become more and more like Christ . . . one who actually walks the walk.
Unfortunately, for those who have not found that their sense of obedience shows an average of an incline, there is a serious problem. And if this problem exists, then we need to test the Spirit within ourselves. We are either led and guided by the Devil, or we are Led and Guided by the Holy Spirit if indeed the Holy Spirit is within us. See below:
Romans 8:9 NLT - "But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)"
So you can see . . . we are either being led into Holy Obedience, or we are being led into sin by our True Father, the Devil.
But hey, I could be wrong about these Scriptures and getting it all wrong.
Anyone who says it is unlawful to do something not commanded by the Bible violates his own principle. Those who argue like this think it applies to some narrow aspect of doctrine or practice. For example. there are those who say that the New Testament does not allow for musical instruments in church. But may they sit in pews or chairs without a command to do so, in church. They may have one hired preacher preach one long sermon, in church, without a command to do so.Why can't we do something not command in the Bible?
I believe that there are several gardening tips in the bible. That would be bible-worship almost. Where we take the Bible to such a high level that if it isn't in the Bible we dont believe it or do it.
Things not in the Bible include:
-Cars
-Computers
-Gardening tips
-Plumbing
-Electrician work
-Advice about vitamins and other nutrients
-Skateboards
-American Football
-Soft drinks
-Universities
The list is endless. We consume and do many non-biblical things daily, that does not make them UNbiblical. There is a difference, this is just my opinion![]()

The principle is that all things are lawful but not all are edifying. We need to be led by conscience and intuition. Conscience will tell us if we are on the wrong track. Intuition will guide us into what is acceptable to God.
HmmmmmGoing to take a shot at what you're asking here. I think you probably have something particular in mind, but you're wanting to know that if it is not explicitly commanded then should you avoid it or do it anyway?
There are many things that aren't explicitly forbidden or encouraged in the Bible. Some of things are mundane and innocent like brushing your teeth. Some of them are more gray areas like watching too much TV.
actually, it is the FRUIT of the Holy Spirit that indicates a character more like Christ
as follows:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5: 22-23
Most folks obey law...does that make them a Christian. nope it does not
Yes, Christians should walk in a way that does not dishonor what they say they believe.

The context of that chapter is that there is a law against works of the flesh (which will keep folks from the kingdom of God as they make a lifestyle of breaking the law)...but there isn't a law against operating in the fruits of the Spirit.
Paul is contrasting lawful acts vs. unlawful acts. He isn't saying the law is nullified by the fruits of the Spirit.
