yep, He sufferend almost beyond Human comprehension, the Romans were BRUTAL, in their techniques and their ways to make a person's life miserable on the tree.... but in all , He saith, 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do, Understanding fully His Appeasement, not only from the Appeasement side of His Death, but the Physical Side.. incredible! Yet HE NEVER SINNED.. Never had a murderous thought towards those who were spitting on Him, hitting Him, mocking Him, driving spikes thru His hands and feet. Incredible torture, Yet No Sin, Just Forgiveness FOR HIS ENEMIES, wow.. He strived unto Blood , yet had No Sin... truly the Lamb of God, Slain Before the Foundation of the World, Jesus the Christ, God manfest in the flesh.

* You realize that both of Christ's Arms would of dislocated after a short time on the tRee? the Weight of His Body and the Angle as which His Arms were placed, they would of popped out of the sockets.. Incredible Pain!... plus the Inability to Exhale/inahle.. having to push yourself up on the 'spikes' to do that.. Incredible.. yet He never Sinned.. wow.. what an Incredible Act of Love and Appeasement!

I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels.

^^^ this was also prophesied of in Psalms. 'all my joints are out of place'.

I read online that Jesus is refereed to the son of man 88 times in the bible. Here are a few that I have found.
(Matthew 24:30) Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
(Luke 21:27) And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
(John 3:13) Moreover, no man has ascended into heaven but the one who descended from heaven, the Son of man.
(Acts 7:56) and he said: “Look! I see the heavens opened up and the Son of man standing at God’s right hand.”
(Revelation 14:14) Then I saw, and look! a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.
 
Jesus' favorite title for himself was "son of man" which was probably a reference to this out of Daniel:

Dan 7:13 As I watched in the night visions, I saw one like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven.
And he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him.

This is one of the two texts Jesus quoted from at his trial:

Matt26:64 Jesus said to him, “You have said it yourself. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Thank you Dorcas, it is always interesting to see what people refer to because the Bible can say so many things to so many people. :)
 
Many choose Barabbas for sure as evidenced by the Jewish nation en masse when they cried..."let his blood be upon us and our children." They have reaped the reward of that fateful day for some 1980 years or so now!

Yes brother. Sad indeed that our Jewish brethren are so blinded by their own desires.

They have the knowledge of the word and we (Christians) have grace... and somewhere in the middle are some common ground for us to meet :)
 
They were being coached as to who to ask for

Mat 27:20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude
that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

People are followers for the most part

Yes, it says so, but also notice that the addressees where the covenant people of God, a people who already knew God's will and not the unbelieving pagans of the world. I think that context is perhaps pretty important?

For sure many choose Barabbas, since that is the natural thing for natural man to do. A more important Q would be how come that some choose Christ? Not without first being regenerated, me says.

Not sure of your last point as the scripture is clear..NO MAN comes unto Christ unless he first be drawn of the Father.....and the Father has given unto Christ ALL that will receive him and he will lose none of them......so what do you mean brother by the bolded above?
