I believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the Elect.

all the rest of creation who God refers to as "elect" are just that ... "elect" ... as in not the Elect.

.
What do you claim as your reference to only Jesus being Elect? Clearly Himself used the term and He wasn't referring to Himself.

I said I believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the Elect (capital "E") ... all the rest of the "elect" are small "e" ...

Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

The Lord Jesus Christ quoted Isaiah 42:1-5 in Matt 12:16-21.

Matthew 12:14-18 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; And charged them that they should not make him known: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

Sure. Jesus is chosen of God. How does that, in and of itself, keep others from being elect?

what you claim to be "False !" is straight from God's Word:

Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

that you place yourself on par with the Elect speaks volumes ...

.
False Christ wasn't and isnt the only of Gods Elect.

what is sad is that you equate your erroneous dogma to be on par with Scripture ...

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive
.
Looks like you wont be convinced until Judgment day, but you are opposing the Gospel of Christ.

 ... not holding to your erroneous dogma does not equal "unbelief !"

.
To deny that Jesus Death saved everyone He died for, is unbelief 1 Pet 2:24

24 who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

I never said others are "kept from being elect".

The Lord Jesus Christ is above all others, before all others

Colossians 1:14-17 In whom [the Lord Jesus Christ]
we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Ephesians 1:18-21 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come

That's fine but I don't believe that deals with the issue of election of the saints. It still must be dealt with in some manner.

you are opposing the Gospel of Christ.
nope ...

I know that the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one who believes (verb, active) ...

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it [the gospel of Christ] is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth [verb, active]

the verb is active ... believing is active on the part of the believer ... not a passive when the "person receives a knowledge" ...

your manipulation of Scripture again fails.

everyone He died for
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

You believe that we're saved by who's faith?

Hebrews 11:6
:)

According to you, we are not saved by grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ.

Because that is what I believe, and you claim I am wrong.

We are saved by grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ.

We are saved by grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ.

Correct. We were not saved by our faith; we were saved because of Christ's faith(fulness)and obedience to the mission the Father gave to Him - we cannot become saved by anything that we may do (or not do). Salvation is given completely and solely as a gift from God. Everything that pertains to it including our faith accompanies it, otherwise, it would then be by our works not Christ's. However, as we have been so informed by the Bible, we can't be saved by any of our works. If I remember correctly, in a prior post, I included many verses which confirm that. Here are a few verses off the top. I can provide more if you'd like.

[Phl 1:29 KJV] 29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

[Gal 2:16 KJV] 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

[Jhn 6:29 KJV] 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

[Heb 3:1-2 KJV]
1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses [was faithful] in all his house.

False teaching, Christ isn't and has never been Gods Only Elect.
Yes, brightfame52 ... Messiah ... the Lord Jesus Christ ... is "Gods Only Elect".

all others are "elect" ... small "e".

You refer to the subgroup of humanity you deem as "elect" in the same manner you should refer only to the Lord Jesus Christ, thereby raising yourself (because you consider yourself as "elect") to the same level as the Lord Jesus Christ. Here is what you do, have done, and hopefully will not do again:

I said in Post 3502:

the "Elect of God" is the Lord Jesus Christ.

You replied in Post 3506

And those Chosen in Him before the foundation Eph 1:4

thereby raising "those Chosen in Him" to the same position as the Lord Jesus Christ. You even capitalized the word "Chosen" ... just as you capitalize the word "Elect" when referring to descendants of Adam. In doing so, you exalt humanity to the same position as the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have explained this to you before, and you reject the truth.

The Lord Jesus Christ has been given a name which is above every name ... not only in this world but also in that which is to come. Your "elect" folks will never occupy the same position as the Lord Jesus Christ, not in this world ... nor in that which is to come:

Ephesians 1:18-21 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come
