Proverbs 15

1 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.

I appreciate your posts and you make a lot of good points. But if you want people to consider what you have to say, be gentle about it. Because right now a lot of the people posting to you are at the point of resisting whatever you say. All that's left is a lot of name-calling and so the message gets lost among all that hostility.

Let God deal with whatever still needs work in each of us. Let's just encourage each other to draw closer to God and to truly let Him be Lord and not just Savior of our lives.

The reason I say this is because these are the very last days. God told us in the Bible that:

Matthew 24:10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Daniel 12:10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

So just trust God that He will reach the wise without calling anybody else out because fighting with people who will never understand is just a waste of time especially in these last days.

It's depend on which sowers they belong to.

I dont do it to a good sower.

In 1 John we see the whole man
How do I move the goal post?
First you quote verses that speak clearly of those who have been born again not sinning, being righteous just as Jesus is righteous, etc. Then you throw in caveats that are clearly absent from those Scriptures. And it appears that the caveats defeat your original contention.

Yes, not by power, not by might but by my Spirit says the LORD.

Are these words speaking to you?

What's your stand?
I was asking you whether you were moving the goal posts. Let's look at the first verse you quoted. This can be a placeholder for the other ones as they all present the same concept.

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (1 Jn 3:9)

The new man (the new creation by way of spiritual birth) is truly righteous and holy (Eph 4:24). 1 John 3:9 explains that the new man doeth not sin and possess no power to sin because he is the offspring of God. This is not speaking of the body of sin in which we live (the flesh) and that makes us feel miserable and wretched (Rom 7:21-24), or of the whole man that on one hand has a dead body because of it's sin and has on the other hand a spirit that is alive to God because of righteousness (Rom 8:10). It is speaking of the spirit that God gave birth to (Jn 3:6) and that is joined to the Lord and is one spirit with Him (1 Cor 6:17).

None of this argues that the new man commits little sins but then is convicted. They all argue for you to be able to distinguish between the righteousness of the new man and the depravity of the flesh. The flesh always goes in a direction in adversarial opposition to the Spirit (Gal 5:17), and the only way to thwart its desires is to walk in the Spirit (Ga 5:16).

Yes, correct and what're you opposing?
