Who do I pray to, the Father, the Son or the Spirit, or does it really matter?

Read the Gospel of John 16: 22-27. The authority of God is in His word, the Bible, not in the speculations of men. We pray to the Father for our petitions etc. and end our prayers in Jesus name, thus honouring the Son as well. When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the temple leading to the holy of holies was torn from top to bottom. This act signified that not just the high priest, but everyone had right to God who would believe the Gospel, repent, and be baptised into the body of believers by the Holy Spirit. True believers can call upon the Father as ABBA Father, now as adopted sons and daughters.

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Jesus said here to pray to the Father.
Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Jesus said when He resurrects to heaven to not ask Him anything, but only ask the Father in His name, and He will do it.
Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
But here Jesus said when He resurrects to heaven to ask Him, and He will do it.

Jesus is God and man, and when the man Christ Jesus was on earth they would ask Him for He is the way to the Father, but when Jesus resurrected they could go to Jesus as God and ask Him.
But do people consider when Jesus said when He resurrects to heaven only ask the Father, and when He resurrects to heaven to ask Him.

What scriptures are you referring to, that allude to Prayer directed to Jesus after his resurrection? Scripture now, not what you believe, ,convinced of, or think. John 16: 22-27. gives a clearer picture of what Jesus meant on your quote of John 14: 14. " Jesus only ", is not Biblical when referring to the Godhead and leaving out the Father in prayer leans toward that error.
when jesus taught his desciples to pray he told them to start the prayer with 'Our father...' so jesus saying that we are not to pray to him: but rather to our father, i.e. His father and Our father! We are to pray in His name: i.e. in accordance with his character. for the name of a person back in jesus time was a repesentative of his character. So when we are operating in the charactor of Jesus; then we pray to the father and he hears us and answers us.
