My balcony is at least one of them. I’m allowing my nicotine addiction to flourish there and I can see that gulf no one longer knows the name of.

I don't care what they call it, we have visited several times for vacation, FL side. That would be another of my happy places. The Emerald Coast is beautiful!!

My real happy place though, where I always “feel” like I’m on vacation, is definitely Oahu, Hawaii, where half of my family is from.

My mother, my aunt and my deceased uncle, were born and raised there.

My grandpa died there and my grandmother stay there till she was 79, then moved to California for two years and passed away.

My grandmother worked at the marine base there, as a civil engineer. When she retired, they hired like 4 people to do her job. She has designed landscape, buildings and art structures in Hawaii for decades.

My grandfather was a famous musician in Hawaii, in the band ‘Na Hoku Pa’, which in Hawaii, either means, ‘The Stars’ or ‘The Planets’. My grandfather remarried after my grandmother and him divorced. The wife he remarried, Ellen, is well known traditional Hawaiian dancer, singer and amazing entertainer. Her energy is awesome.

I also have a half aunt because of them, named Tyler, who is basically famous in Washington State for her singing and music, mostly around the Spokane, Washington area. Her and I talk every week. She inspired me to get into music. Her music artist name is Tyler Alai.

My dad was also a drummer in the band, ‘Smash Fashion’ in the late 80’s, early 90’s but I think they only made one album. My dad is or was an excellent drummer though and loves rock music.

But…but…that’s on the wrong side of the gulf.😂
And beside all this, between thee and she there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to her, that would come from thence.

In a community pool jacuzzi with my aunt, mom, cousin and little brother. Then swimming in the heated pool, racing my little brother and cousin, from one end to the other and winning, even though I am 20 years older than them.

They are in high school. Shouldn’t they win?

I went like a decade with barely any exercise and by the time I got to the other end of the pool, my brother and cousin were basically still in the center of the pool, trying as hard as they can to be in second place.

I am obese and they have like a perfect BMi.

Our future leaders of tomorrow.

Very smart kids though.

I don't have anything to take out because i didn't put anything in, not even a tree.
We're just dealing with flu here in NorthEast. Lots and lots of flu. One day at a time, in God's hands.

Yes, my sister had the flu through Christmas at her place. All the adults and grandkids had it. She said she was glad she had made turkey because she was too sick to cook. Winters that go from warm to cold and warm again tend to have more sickness. That's how the weather has been so far. Hope you all feel better soon!

At home with a nice hot cup of coffee :coffee:

Now, do you have a favorite brand? Family brought Tim Hortons from home so it was brewing all holiday long. lol My hubby got my father a new coffee machine, he had only a small one cup deal, rather cheap version. So all the coffee drinkers in the house were happy.

They roast it when I order it. Most commercial coffee was roasted months (if not years) before purchase.

I buy whole bean organic Guatemala French Roast

Yeah, that. Me and dad both are not big on decorations. Despite the family Christmas being at our house, we didn't put one single light up.

I used to fiddle with a big artificial tree, lights and decorations every year because Grandma liked it. But Grandma is gone and so are the decorations and I ain't never, ever, ever, EVER doing that again.

If I ever string colored lights up it will be because I like the pretty colors and it will stay up all year round. And the lights will twinkle and race and do all kinds of things, because I ain't fooling around with anything less. Nothing else will be worth the trouble.

Yeah, speaking of permanent lights. I did a finished patio in my backyard in 2019 right before covid. And i asked the guys to run wire all over and underneath so i can have lights on the edges of the finished area. The wires are still outside unhooked to anything to this day. I look at them and i look at the Amazon shopping list (where i put them like 6 years ago - they need a transformer too) and i say ... Someday ...

I also like summer lights (like the pic below) but i never put one because the summers are short here and i'd rather spend them at the beach ... where i can see lights like these in restaurants or wherever. So i enjoy that instead.

I don't have to have things on my house to appreciate them or enjoy them.
Maybe someday i'll move to Clearwater Florida where i can fully appreciate endless summers. Some day.

Oh, there's a place in Rhode Island which is where they fly kites every summer. Very nice place for families and single people as well.
I sit under a tree and fly a kite from the chair.

The older you get the less you want to mess with it. I used to do a 7 ft tree, cause you know when I sin I figure sin big, and put hundreds of lights on that sucker. But now my nephews are grown. I have a great nephew but he didn't make it up for Christmas. So I did a small tree this year and we went a little retro. Hubby had never seen bubble lights before and thought they were pretty cool so we used that this year. Nothing up outside but a wreath on the door. But with parents not well you put your focus where it's needed. Luckily we haven't had much in snow this year, I hope it stays that way.
