but I tell ya, those 6 times I’ve moved during my childhood, was not by choice. Daddy’s job moved us around to different places for the same kind of job he was doing when we left northern Texas. And no, I’m not a military brat, I was the “construction brat” growing up. So the farthest east ive been is springfield, Mo. and now currently I’m an Okie.
I’m from Texas, originally the Houston area (Deer Park, but when talking to people...most people don’t know about deer park so that’s why I make it easy and say “The Houston area”), right now I’m the middle of nowhere, lol. If I want Whataburger I gotta drive out 45 mins, it’s sad but I do like how quiet it is out here and the nature is pretty, it’s peaceful ^_^
I am originally from Forth Worth/DFW area, so i know what you mean about Deer Park lol. I’ve never been to Houston, but im sure it’s beautiful out that way. Texas does have some perks with beautiful bluebonnets and the ocean/beach. I miss Texas sometimes, but not during this pandemic I don’t lol.
It’s nice, but it’s basically city and a lot of suburban areas, so it’s the best area for shopping and whatnot. I would say the worst thing was the humidity, cause Houston is really close to the coast, it would get humid very easily. It was cool though to be able to go to Galveston and Kemah boardwalk easily.

Arizona was one of the state’s we moved too, we lived in Phoenix... I don’t like it there all mainly cause of the weather. but I’m sure I would’ve liked it more if I lived north like Flagstaff area.
Yeah, did a 3 year stretch in Clarksville, Tennessee in the early 80's while stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. The installation is actually in both Tennessee and Kentucky but has a Kentucky post office. I enjoyed the change of seasons in Tennessee, even winter because while they get a little snow occasionally cold it usually warms right up. Beautiful fall and spring. Summer is like Florida, hot and humid but doesn't last as long. Mainly, I am just tired of the congestion in Florida, especially Orlando and Tampa / St. Petersburg. We live in Clearwater which is next to both of those cities.
Flagstaff is much more cooler than Phoenix and gets a lot of snow. I have been in both of those cities. Phoenix is just incredibly hot. Not a very refreshing climate.
yep. Completely agree with you. Completely different climates. I prefer the north anyway, but that’s my opinion.
"High thin cloudiness" was the daily weather report in Phoenix the short time I was there, that was all that could get over the mountain. In Flagstff I was told it could snow in July, lol!
