Where did King James only originate?

people are saved by hearing Christ preached.

IMO we care about the topic because we fear some of our brothers and sisters care more about 'kjv' than the truth.
i agree kjv is a great translation. i grew up with it. i read it. half the things i have memorized are in its wording. i just hesitate to say 'kjv or nothing!' because i know it's not true and i feel like i would be putting it above Christ if i went down that road.

The kjv accurately tells us who Jesus is....while I am uncertain that I can say the same of some of the modern translations.

I believe that they will produce spiritual anemia in those who abide in them.
 
All translations accurately disseminate the Core Doctrine of the Bible . . . Circumcision of the Heart. This includes the Catholic Bible and the New World (Mormon) translations. They are all amazing.

Incredibly, the Tanakh discusses Circumcision of the Heart while "christian" translations do not (in some Old Testament passages).

It is an opinion; and you need to consider that opinions are not always invalid for that they are an opinion.

Sometimes I lay things out for people to contemplate; and I may not give supporting evidence. I expect the Holy Spirit to take them the rest of the way; in that He will testify to them the truth of the matter.

But you, @Dino246, are one who characteristically rejects the testimony of the Holy Spirit;

Because you want hard facts that are supported by evidence in every post.

Well, sometimes that evidence is not going to be presented to you (see Mark 8:12); which does not mean that the evidence is not there for someone who is faithful.

Perhaps in some contexts, but not this one. When it comes to scriptural interpretation, opinions have absolutely no evidentiary value.

When your assertions are inconsistent with Scripture (as many of them are), the only place they need to be taken is to the trash bin.

Correct. I will happily dismiss any assertion you make regarding Scripture unless it is backed up with Scripture. Many of your assertions about Scripture are nothing but your windy opinions.

That verse is so far off topic that it's in the next county. Opinions are not evidence; full stop. If you can't substantiate your assertions about Scripture with Scripture, they are worthless.

The Holy Spirit has to take you the rest of the way by testifying to you the truth of what I am saying.

However, He won't do that with you if you are the kind to fail at listening to His voice.

If there are other people passionate about other Bible versions, I have yet to hear it, for example, I dont really hear about Message-only people, or NLTonly or lolcat only or even NIVonly ppl amongst christians.

I dont think its as bad as people make out, but I do think some are a bit crazy to think that English is the only language on the planet! lol

Agreed. To date, I have only found one translation that made me think, "What in the world?!" - But in the Biblical Commentary that I am actively writing, I use all translations that I have at my disposal, including the incredible Tanakh, and find them all to be incredibly useful. In fact, I prefer to look at how various scholars paraphrase the Word of God, and use these translations to really get to the bottom of what is being said. I am very grateful for the plethora of translations that we have today.

Edit - The reason for my using multiple translations includes the idea that no one can knock me for using or not using certain translations. In fact, whenever I quote from the KJV, I highlight that fact in Red Text.
 
My guess is that of course KJV came from Engalnd, (a lot of it from Tyndales translation) and it was still the main version is use when it crossed the Atlantic to america, But when it reached america because of the animosity between americans and british, the americans wanted their own version of the Bible, but some still liked to read KJV and held out.

That is why KJVonly people tend to be most vociferous in america. In England nobody cares THAT much. Its just the normal Bible for them. Any english translation that is authorized by the church of England (or as its said, appointed to be read in churches) as it was then is their default Bible.

But in the US, there is no national church as there is in England. You can read what you like.
