Awesome Sunday y'all. When God gives you a word concerning your marriage backed by a bible verse and it's close to a year since then. You've prayed, fasted, kept the faith even mingled by taking up different activities, but nothing seems to be bringing you close to the fulfillment of the word. What next should you do?
Continue to do what you know pleases God.
One of the worst things you can do is get ahead of God. He often tells us what He's wants us to do long before He has us do it. Then He prepares us for the task. If we attempt the task before we are trained, bad results will inevitably follow.
Let's take Moses, for instance. He had a sense at the age of 40 that God wanted him to lead and help His people. But because He didn't wait upon God's timing and training, he ended up trying to lead God's people in his own strength. Things went poorly quickly.
Fast forward 40 years. God again comes to Moses and has him deliver His people. No doubt Moses thought he was wasting time getting nothing done those 40 years. But, in fact, God had been transforming Moses into the kind of leader God can use. No longer is he brash and forward. He is now humble and patient. Before he was in a hurry. Now he is measured in his actions. Before he didn't wait for the Lord to lead. Now God has his attention and his ear.
Something similar is likely going on with you. You don't notice the changes God is bringing to pass in you, but He is daily working and willing in you His good pleasure. Learn to just enjoy Him as you work out your salvation. Try to identify the things He is doing and submit yourself to those things. I have no doubt that before long He will come again and make Himself and His plans for you more fully known. And you will have been transformed in the interim to be a profitable servant.
