How about instead of a biased religious site, look for multiple studies from multiple resources.

My sentiments exactly.Well I'm gonna give my 10 cents here. I don't believe it's violent video games either. Stats don't bear that out. Not saying it doesn't affect a person that already has an issue, but I don't think it's the cause. But one thing the shooters do all have in common, 26 out of 27 came from fatherless homes. I think that is a pretty big stat and a good reason to start looking into it.
People, no matter what I say about myself, you just assume you know me. I tell you I try to do things a certain way, only for you to tell me I'm self-righteous. I try to give you all advice, but then you tell me I have no business doing so. You've put me in a situation I where I can't win. Do you all enjoy slamming me? Do you hate me?
Problem is, I have no one else to talk to about any of my problems. No one. Not my family, and certainly no friends. And I have gone out of my way to try and make friends for years. And yet, the stupid things I post online will stay there forever and will likely cost me future job opportunities. No one hates you, people have different opinions, that's all. This is a discussion forum and that's what people do here. Don't give people so much control in your life. You must admit you are direct and so people will respond in kind. If that isn't the feedback you want then you have to be more subdued in your responses. I know I can light a match here and have a barn burner. I don't unless someone starts with false doctrine. Then I don't care if they light up. People respond in kind usually.

Sometimes, life just really sucks.
Why bother talking to anyone? I do attend a church, but I'm painfully shy and introverted, and also on the spectrum. I know almost nobody there. I've tried Christian counseling dozens of times. Nothing has ever worked.I've been there, I think many of us have. Have you tried the ladies forum? They are usually easy to talk to. Do you have a church you attend? Is there a pastor's wife you could talk with? Getting late here but will check back for your answer tomorrow.
By the way, how do I know you're being genuine? I see how you've upvoted the comments that were bashing me.I've been there, I think many of us have. Have you tried the ladies forum? Well, hopefully there are as many decent people as there are awful people. Lord knows.I have been a member of this site for more than six years. Rude, disrespectful and hurtful comments are quite common around these parts.
Thing is that if someone is posting something contrary to some of the members beliefs, they will sometimes respond in a not so nice way.
I don’t particularly enjoy saying this, but there are people who are well versed in the noble art of bashing others. At times I’m one of them. Unfortunately.
Sure is. But we can only control our own actions, and reactions. The way I see it the biggest problem is the tendency of ganging up when one person first starts bashing someone.
I’ve seen it again and again on here. Someone is posting, someone doesn’t approve of said post, and instantly starts slamming the first poster. Then others start joining in, and before long there is 4-5 posters making 10 posts each per hour to make the first poster stop posting. That’s a plain old Lynch mob.
I know people that have left the site after being attacked repeatedly.
Sad.
We would be respecting each other and being polite for the wrong reasons though.
Jesus said we are to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. In your scenario, we would treat every living person like a target. And I thought everyone was made in God's image.
We wouldn't trust anyone. We barely even do as it is. And love cannot be built without trust. Give everyone a firearm, and when the wrong person uses it at the wrong time, you get utter chaos and anarchy.
The early Christians laid down their rights to carry weapons and were willing to be martyred for their faith. You know why? Cause they loved rather than hated. Where's that faith and bravery now?
Thing is, fear does not bring about lasting change. People always get fed up with their fear anyway and ignore the consequences.
Small children in daycare centers especially should not be surrounded with firearms. If I had a child, I wouldn't take them there.
I wouldn’t feel safe living in a neighborhood where everyone has a firearm on them. I don’t carry a firearm because I don’t have the training to use it, nor do I want the training. Most ordinary people with gun training don’t have the training to defend other people at a moment’s notice. I don’t want to accidentally shoot the wrong person.True.. But still life in such a town would be more peaceful and less dangerous then living in a gun free zone where all law abiding people where unarmed and all the criminals and crazies have guns..
Those who Love the teachings of Jesus will be doing those things irrespective of the situation in regard to guns in their town.. They would not be doing good out of fear of the consequences, they would be doing good because they love what is good..
People find love in the middle of war zones.. Love can be built on the desire to love.. As for me i only Trust in God.. I hope in other human beings, but i do not trust any human being.. In the cases i have seen of a person intervening in a shooter situation the person did not go crazy with their gun and shot up everyone around them.. So no chaos would be very rare..
I agree, I do not use a weapon and i rely on God for protection and if God deems that it is my time to die and i am going to die by being shot then so be it....
But in the general society, which is mostly filled with people who do not believe Jesus, they will treat others with more respect and they will resist the temptation to rape, steal or kill if they know that there is a high probability that the people around them are armed and loaded.. Christians are motivated by Love not to do evil.. Many Unbelievers need the motivation of fear not to do evil..
Well if they become suicidal and they are motivated to try doing evil then yeah fear does not work.. But the fear of bad consequences does stop most of them taking things to that level.. You are never going to stop evil happening 100% but if you reduce the incidences by 95% then that is good..
Well the gun can be secure in its holster.. Of course you do not allow kids to start playing with Guns.. The gun should be on your person at all times.. A chest holster under your shirt would be best in such a situation..
By the way, how do I know you're being genuine? I see how you've upvoted the comments that were bashing me.
