Guy is a hypocrite. It always rubs me the wrong way when someone attempts to dictate how to live my life, what to eat, what to avoid, etc. Coffee is in no way sinful regardless of the amount of consumption.
I know what you mean.
I've tried to be gentle with those with weight problems because I have had a weakness from time to time with sugar and have to do things to take control.
That led me to dietary changes like cutting out wheat and foods I react to.
As a kid I got called fatso, etc. A family member said I should suck in my gut because I looked disgusting. That did wonders for my self image. I didn't eat more than others, I had a gluten protein metabolic syndrome. It's really common.
Dad did good because he kept paying for my Kung Fu lessons. He was a fit man and ran 5 miles per day, former boxer, home gym. My teachers were really hard on us, but I needed that. It started my physical Fitness For Life Program.
I've been off coffee for a while.
Today stopped at Aldies for a bag of organic that's cheaper than most conventional coffees. I'm grateful for that to start my day. This morning it was half a grapefruit to give my brain energy. If either cause me problems, I'll cut it out.
My view with the pastor was that we all live and apply the Word to our own life. If we can help others, we should.
My preacher usually taught according to the Word, but when he got into opinions, that would be considered with the grain of salt until the Lord shows me differently. It was just a man's opinion till then.
Sometimes I think it's funny to crack a joke at certain things like the kid I posted with chocolate on his face, but actually I try to remember those days.
I felt that my pastor was hurting himself with certain choices. It might have started with certain foods like wheat. I don't know. He wasn't interested in learning areas he needed help with. We all depend on each other with certain needs. I don't know it all.
There's a book a researcher wrote called Wheat Belly which was my problem. I learned on my own through trial and error that I had a cause effect with certain foods.
