Tonight I went on strike... Daughter Melisa put a pizza in the oven for us. Chicken, vegies and white sauce. Jerry didn't like it but I thought it was pretty good and I didn't have to cook so for me it was great.

Pizza was horrible and not at all like this depiction.

Meal plan for weekend and next week:
Saturday lunch: Steak with baked potato and brussels sprouts
Sunday lunch: Fried chicken tenders and potato wedges, with lettuce wedge salad
Weekday Lunch: Chicken curry with rice
Weekday Dinner: Black bean tacos

During weekends, we only have one major meal and a small snack in the evening. However, during weekdays, we have two smaller meals. No breakfast.
That all sounds wonderful. Had some crappy pizza last night. Right now I would settle for the lettuce wedge. Gonna put ranch on it for sure. Take one of those wedggies too.

Finally finished up my leftover spaghetti tonight. I just can't stand having food go to waste.

The good news is ... I made chocolate chip scones today. 😁
I didn't know that scones come in flavors. In tact, without googling it I couldn't tell you what a scone is. Is that like some kind of biscuit?

Besides...
Did you know? 🤔 Applesauce is a great snack if your stomach is acting up and you need

something easy to digest.
For awhile there I was eating applesauce everyday. I like the little snack pack ones from Mott's. My wife made homemade apple sauce once. That was pretty good. She made some apple butter too. Yep.

I fixed a recipe from Brenda Gantts Cook Book It's Gonna Be Good Y'all Yellow rice casserole. We also had air fryer chicken for dinner tonight. You should check out her cooking on FaceBook called Cooking With Brenda Gantt. She is a sweet old lady from the south in Alabama and the neat thing about her other than her friendly personality is that she will share the Bible and talk about Jesus when she is cooking at times.

She just started FB not that long ago and became an influencer pretty quickly.... been on TV a few times and wrote a cookbook... You might want to look her up and watch a video or two....
The chicken and rice was excellent and the chicken was not burnt like Melisa's. You're a sweet lady too but I would not consider you old. It was good y'all.

I love all breakfast foods and could have it for lunch or dinner too.
I don't mean traditional breakfast foods, I mean eating at the start of the day. It can be pancakes, eggs, pot roast or pizza, as long as there is a large quantity of it.

I just got through with a very large tuna dip bowl and a whole sleeve of ritz crackers. And some leftover chicken livers. And an apple fritter. I'm still debating whether to eat a banana with some chocolate peanut butter... nah, maybe that's enough for this morning.

Everything is great when it sits on a Ritz. Good cracker.

Some things a ritz can't help. Anchovies, for example. Tofu, for another example.

I can do a lot of experimenting to find the exact parameters of what can be helped by a ritz. I bought multiple jumbo size boxes of the things at the salvage grocery. I may become the expert at improving gastronomic matters by application of Ritz crackers.

I would describe it as a cross between a cookie and a biscuit. It's just slightly sweet. I've always loved getting them at Starbucks. (Pumpkin, yum!) I finally decided to learn to make them myself, especially since I now live in the country, far from Starbucks. I first learned to make the cranberry. Then yesterday I wanted to use up some chocolate chips I'd forgotten about. They came out yummy! Next time I think I want to do blueberry. I'm still learning, but so far so good!

I went and took a picture for you.

My daughter & s-i-l have fruit trees on their property..and she makes apple sauce, apple butter and other jams/preserves..there's nothing better than homemade..beats store- bought. I like when she gives me the different combinations she makes.havent had one I don't like. 😉

My favorite is peanut butter on a Ritz. Now I got to check my pantry to see if there are any Ritz crackers stuck in the back.

Yeah, no, forget that. You say no breakfast, I say no comprende senora. :p Breakfast is THE meal for me.

I go through short periods where I eat breakfast like a bagel w/ cream cheese and coffee, and I love other breakfast foods as well. I have learned that overall it is better for our health (weight issues, preventing diabetes and other illnesses) if we skip one meal (intermittent fasting). I am not even hungry during breakfast time.

If I am hungry, I do have a snack place which usually has one or more of these items: pita chips and hummus, boiled egg, grapes or other fruit, cheese and crackers.
