Right now I'm playing a video game called Blackguards. One of the sidequests reminds me a lot of these "What I want in a spouse" threads.
It involves Telemache and her husband Azulo. Telemache is always complaining about what a wimp Azulo is, so finally she finds a magic ritual to change him into "the perfect man."
Next time you meet Telemache, she's still unhappy. Her perfect man is smothering her with attention. When they are out in public he challenges other guys to a duel if they so much as glance at her. And at night in the bedroom... Well she's exhausted and wishes he would just leave her alone.
Every time these "What I want in a spouse" threads come up, I wonder what we would do if we got what we wanted. Would it be a blessing or a curse?

Thank you for the additional details.To love God more than me is to love God regardless of what can happen between the two of us.
If she loves God more than me, it means that is her prime focus and that God is the one that holds that throne of her heart.
In alot of ways to allow God to be number one in her own life without making everything about one person
I definitely agree that her first love must be the God and Father of Jesus.
The man that she must love the most is Jesus.
A wife with those priorities will have a husband that praises her.

People question and say the person they have was not the person they wanted.
but have they ever sat down and thought that it is not always what they want, but it is what God wants?

For a man the scriptural requirement for a spouse would be that she is a woman. For a woman the scriptural requirement for a spouse would be that he is a man.

Really, number 3 constructive criticism and advice???
I have not had a man really ask that of me before, a lot of men cannot handle constructive citicism and advice. They will say I need prayer and support, or a cuddle or someone to listen to me not advice.
Advice on what? The only thing I remember a man actually asking me for advice was when I did proofreading and editing.
Correct spelling, grammar and paragraphing?
I also wrote CVs for people. Both for men and women although I didn't really think of it at the time as giving constructive criticism. It was more encouragement. Because I would write good things about them not keep pointing out their flaws.
Your spouse, if you are to have one, is not allowed to be a girl or a boy. They have to be a grown man or woman. When I see men specifiying virgins or they have to be young Im like you are NOT after a woman you are after a girl, and for women to go after (toy)boys its more like they are looking for a pet. A spouse is not your pet. Treat them like they have a brain. You need to be equal and if that isnt happening you will either be under their thumb or the time or you'll be bossing them around.

Lol but who said I was serious on that specific part? Discussions should be there, but of course a woman supports her man in truth as she trusts him and his judgment of choices.

If he gives her an 'allowance' right? I have heard in many marriages a man holds the purse strings and doles out money each week for his wife's upkeep...she has to ask him permission for every little thing.

A woman has a job same as a man. Is the woman or man both loose with money? Or does she or he tell the other to deal with all finances and to be given only what she needs.
