Hey Everyone,

Let's have a humorous look at our belief that "What Was Lost, Now Is Found!"

This thread is inspired by the fact that as I went to change my pillowcases a while back, I found a completely flattened chocolate chip beneath them. Now, I'm not one to be snacking in my sleeping place (crumbs are itchy, you know,) but in order to try to keep my chocolate cravings from taking over, I'm known to grab a handful of chocolate chips now and then.

Apparently, I miss the target fairly often (and with as much as I "talk" here, you'd think the target was big enough to be unmissable!!) I'm pretty sure what happens is that when I "miss", the chocolate chips then fall into the nooks and crannies of my hoodie and then hitch a ride all over my living space.

Therefore, I have found chocolate chips: around my desk, in front of my TV, wedged in the couch, under my blankets, in corners of most every room, and mixed in with the piles of paperwork I'm always sorting. ?

What about YOU?

* What kinds of things do YOU find when cleaning out your furniture, car, or sometimes "forgotten" spaces?

* What are some of the funniest or most unusual things you or someone you know has lost and/or found?

* Are there items you are STILL missing -- but are convinced you'll still find... SOMEDAY?

I searched the long-lost archives of Google for common things people find -- I'm going to make a multiple-choice poll about them with visible answers.

Since the system only allows about 10 answers, I'm going to run out of space pretty fast, so come back and tell us about YOUR "Greatest (or Not So Great) Hits" from what you've found that was Lost in Yonkers! :sneaky:

I cannot find my red comb that I use after I wash my hair. Haven't the faintest and I need it. Have looked everywhere.

Not especially fantastic though.

So, when we moved from our old house to where we live now I KNOW I didn't bring baby things along. My youngest was 4 when we moved here ( 12 now). But SOMEHOW when I opened a built in drawer in the laundry room the other day I found a baby sock  ( could tell by the character design it was ours once upon a time way back when and not something the previous, elderly owners left behind)
And I was like HOW!? How in the world did a baby sock get here when I didn't bring any of that stuff along? Let alone how did it end up in this drawer?"
Oh the mysteries of socks. ( I was probably looking for it's mate way back when  )

My car is literally spotless and smells tropical in the cabin.

The trunk on the other hand…I got a bunch of stuff in the trunk I was selling in early 2023. Not sure what you would find in there. All I can think of is this like shelving system and pet hair buzzer kit, everything else is beyond me.

Just dirt and dust in my case, and maybe a petrified french fry or two. I keep my vehicles pretty clean.
I might have a petrified French fry or too as well. Those things are hard to get out of the crack between and front seat and the center console

Hey they probably got the fingers and forearms for it.
And determination
I mean my son's not afraid to get on the floor at the store and get into tight corners by the vending machines just to get those coins that fall under/behind (and he's a husky boy!) . But hey, one time he found almost $2 in change and for a young boy (think he was 8-10 at the time) that's a BIG deal

You are going to hate me when I say this cause I think you mentioned that one of your children has autism and I truly hope you can forgive me when I say this but in high school there was a student who really loved coins. I’m not sure what disability he had but if someone threw a coin on the ground he would run for it and pick it up and collect it. It just what he was known for at the time.

One time, some kids super glued a quarter to an outside cement chair and he tried collecting it but he was determined. He came back with like a crowbar and took it off.

Now this is where things get really horrible but there was a 20 dollar bill, that happened to get feces on one side of it. Of course, everyone knows and someone places the 20 dollar bill with the feces side down in the middle of the quad.

So here he comes along. Everyone knows. Excited as he is, he runs up to the 20 dollar bill and thrusts it into his pocket.

High school students are very cruel.

My heart goes out to anyone with a mental disability because I’ve had and still have my fair share of mental disability, yet I seem to function really well with the spirit in me.

nope...

I think you mentioned that one of your children has autism
yup, one that's formally diagnosed...
one that's soon getting testing (the one that gets coins from weird places)...

:LOL:I can see this happening!

*GG's nodding imagining this happening*
Did he freak out when he realized it?

I was about to post and my mom literally just ran across this little unique brass lock that she had set aside in a drawer and was complaining that she'd lost the key for!
