What makes you a geek?

My eternal passion to watch anything hand drawn or animated on a 2D scale. Daria, Batman The Animated Series, The Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain, etc, etc... The list can go on, and believe me, the 80's and 90's came out with a lot of cartoons.

Well what's really cool, is being a non-nerd/non-geek, who calls themselves a nerd/geek, cuz that's cool now. Then what makes one of these non-nerd/geeks a nerd is to discuss something they're obsessed about. Then they say..oh wow..I'm obsessed over "fill in the blank"..I'm such a nerd/geek!

Meanwhile the true nerd/geeks are still alone, in their apartments/houses playing online chess, or other games, while amassing pizza boxes and BO.

So what makes a true geek?

I'd say obsession over at least three things which in return drastically intrudes on having a social life of any sorts.

Well I have no real friends, no one wants to come around for dinner , no one wants to play anything with me, I cant even get a female I like at my church to socialise with me. Yet people often want me to do things for them and are really nice to me, but when its done they dont bother even saying hello. I have nerdy hobbies and interests and many people know about them, so I guess that is why.
 
things i'm a geek about:

-animation (anything from the 90s backward, along with some modern stuff if i think it's good.)
-comics (mainly superheroes.)
-the Kingdom Hearts series (i have, for the most part, figured out the crazy plot. if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.)
-ponies (yeah, i'm a brony as well.)

It's actually really difficult, I'm too cheap to buy the expensive cards so working with the less popular ones is quite tricky! :) Fun though.

Not getting addicted/obsessed is also quite challenging, there is something about that game, as compared to other board games etc that... makes it obsessive/addictive. Strange really.

Fantastic mission field though to be honest... so many people who just want other people to play with.
 
I like to study and write articles on theology, anthropology, physics and sacred geometry. I have a passion for Raphael and Bruegel paintings. i love opera and string symphonies, cant get enough Vivaldi.

I used to be a cool ball player, went hunting and worked on my truck. What happened to me!?
 
Sacred geometry? What is that? Geometry to me means polyhedrals, cosines, pi R squared, etc. and I can't imagine any of that being sacred, so this must be a different use for the word geometry.

I'm not making fun of you, I'm sincerely curious.

I have no idea what he means by it either, but it's usually tied to the occult. Kabbalah, freemasonry, and others all ascribe to it or have in the past.

Let's see what he has to say. I'm hoping it's not tied to the occult.


There is a more benign form, which is just an attempt to create perfect structures using mathematical principles.
 
I promise im not into occult practices. I am not a mathematician, just a simple country boy but I will try and explain the best I can.


Sacred geometry is the geometry of the ancients. Egyptians and Greeks, as well as the Christians and Jews. Science and spirituality in the old world, you couldn't have one without the other, but in our modern world these 2 words seem to fight each other. I like anthropology and to have a better understanding of their culture I had to understand their language of science.


I am sure there are those that can use this science for occult practices, but mankind can take anything and corrupt it into wicked ways.
Hope all that makes sense.
