I bought a vitamix blender, and I am hooked on Katy's smoothies. I found you can throw a lot of things in there. Have you read about what I found out about gelatin? I did a thread on it. Wonderful protein, no taste, easy to add to smoothie. I found I can buy lots of ginger, throw it in the blender with a little water, freeze it and add to the smoothie. I do that with lemons, too. Just wash them good, cut up a bit and throw it in rind, seeds and all. I collect small jars, fill them, and have them lined up in my freezer to add stuff to smoothies. I like the taste of the whole lemon better than just the juice, anyway, and it does wonderful things for salad dressings.
I was having a terrible time with ulcers in my legs. Whatever the lemon rind is so filled with, it does a wonderful job strengthening these 88 year old blood vessels so the ulcers are almost cured. I think it would be a real blessing to anyone with varicose veins.
