He’s been saying that ever since I was a kid. He says they blend cows eyeballs into the patties. I know McDonald’s is bad but I’m lovin’ it…at this moment in time.
My dad was convinced that McDonald's sold worm burgers. You couldn't have paid him to eat anything there lol

For a while I stayed away from McDonald’s. Everytime my family went there, I,would just have them get me a triple cheeseburger without a bun. Can you believe McDonald’s doesn’t do lettuce wraps? Aren’t they trying to be healthy now? I guess not.

In the beef patties? I heard the cow eyeballs went into the ice cream mix, for consistency.

I wish these rumors would get their stories straight with each other.

Seriously though, the box the burger patties come in states 100% beef. No mention of what percentage is meat, but it all came from somewhere on the cow.

Remember back in 2020 when beef got so expensive? The texture of those patties changed a bit for a few months. Usually the consistency is more like integument and gristle. For those few months it was a lot more like the inside layer of skin.

But it was legit still 100% beef.

That’s a first I’ve heard of that! Maybe one day those rumors will have an impact but I don’t see that happening for the next four years, even with RFK. The Don won’t allow it.

I do remember that shortage. During that time I was eating nothing but In n Out and Chick fil a. If I remember correctly, I don’t think In N Out had a problem cause they have their own family farms where they source all of their products.

English muffin: because I was indoctrinated by McDonald’s as a young child and so when I eat at McDonald’s I’m reminded that is where families eat. Though my dad absolutely hates McDonald’s. Says it’s garbage food and doesn’t trust any of it is real.

and Everything Bagel: i can eat a bagel sandwich any day. Just love the texture of the bagels when they are warmed up, and with your favorite sausage patty, with bacon and eggs…yum!
My Aunt also questions whether or not the food at McDonald's is real. I try to avoid McDonalds if possible, but their fries and McRib I have a weakness for.

I work at a McDonald's. I refer to McRibs as "Dollar store spam" and "cream of chitlins." I swear that's what it looks and feels like. Ground up chitlins, mashed into a patty.

Does it taste like cream of chitlins? No idea. I've never tried chitlins and I'm not trying McRibs. I'll cook them all day long, but I bring my lunch from home.

It's a bread with as many eggs and butter as possible and still be bread.

Scratch Danish.
Again a structured dough with many eggs and butter and a touch of cardamom forming flakey layers which is so rich and filling that the little spot of jam and frosting stripe gives a much needed lightening of the bread.
(The donut cakes they call Danish are a crime)

Milk bread or "Paine de Mie"
I usually keep a few loaves of this around all the time. It looks like the store bought sandwich bread but one taste and you immediately know it is not. Slightly sweet from the sugar but very rich due to butter and milk....makes a much better toast with butter than anything else and you know you ate something after consuming it.


Even French toast is better with french bread or brioche than the cotton candy sold as sandwich bread.


Yes, bread is good!

A good moist biscuit would be my first choice, but unless you're in a southern state, a good biscuit is a rare treasure. So, either sourdough English muffin followed by sourdough bread for that breakfast sandwich. Why? Because I like sourdough, but a good biscuit will always own the top spot... to bad I don't live in a southern state.

I understand that McDonalds is definitely a questionable restaurant to go and eat what they are now trying to revamp as healthy food but apart of me just really loves the experience of eating a triple cheese burger or fries or double quarter pounder with cheese…and also, their unsweetened iced tea.

For a while, I was just getting the burgers without a bun, no ketchup, so it would be a keto type burger, since they don’t do lettuce wraps but I’m definitely not above eating there.

Especially when you are in a low budget season in life and you just want to go out and go thru a drive through, just to experience a smiling face and quick service…McDonald’s or in n out is the way to go.

I didn't see where anyone mentioned Danish on this thread. Although, I'm still learning how to navigate the site. I went to Denmark years ago and a legit Danish is absolutely amazing. I could smell it baking on our walk in the morning to the Danish bakery in Copenhagen. I tried several different kinds. My favorite was something similar to a baked good with layers like a croissant, but better. At the bottom it had warm gooey chocolate(but not a lot). It was so tasty.
Americans have no idea what a true Danish tastes like.

On a different note, French toast in my experience is amazing made with a Texas toast loaf slice of bread. But, you can't add too much milk or it will become soggy. Of course you have to add a bit of vanilla and cinnamon to the egg mixture.

I've only had Texas toast as garlic bread... will have to keep it in mind for French toast as well.

Yes. Thank you for helping describe. I'm a bit technical because of the bakery I used to own. But absolutely it's a meal in itself....

They have loaves of Texas toast white bread in the bread aisle. The slices are very thick and square.
