A child who has gone to bed hungry for days will not complain about the texture or flavor of the food he's been given. A king who has gained riches, influence, and wisdom from being on the throne will not complain about the weight of the crown on his head.

This is another piece of advice that I find very powerful. I take it to mean that we should always be grateful for the things that we have in life. God has given us so much, and we should never complain about things that we are so blessed to have in the first place. Any time I find myself complaining about something such as having to go to school, I remember this advice and remind myself that it's a blessing that I even have access to a good education. It shouldn't be "I have to go to school", it should be "I GET to go to school".

This is something that I think is always important to keep in mind.

Have a blessed day, everyone ❤

do not be afraid to fail.
A powerful message. It reminded me of this quote from one of my favorite books:

“Inej had once offered to teach him how to fall. 'The trick is not getting knocked down,' he'd told her with a laugh. 'No, Kaz,' she'd said, 'the trick is in getting back up.'"

As a person who has gained much , lost a lot also, but still has enough. I can tell you that perspective is everything.
Only the Lord was able to open my eyes, the natural man would have been broken going through what I went through.

"Never accept criticism from someone you wouldn't go to for advice"

Ironically, I was told this by someone I would never go to for advice, and it helped me realize I needed to dismiss some unfounded criticism they had given me. Unpack THAT one, ladies and gents! o_O

That's like, "I never tell the truth. I'm even lying right now." crossed with, "My New Year's resolution is to not make any resolutions."

The Spirit spoke this to me one time:

It's a contradiction for anyone to believe they're free from their adversary, the devil, while they fatefully go about making enemies of each other.

Completely disarmed me in a heated moment, I've never forgotten it.

I think most of us probably have friends and loved ones who offer their advice at various times in our lives. Wether you graduate from school, consider popping the question and getting engaged to making a huge investment such as purchasing your first home. We all have those people in our lives that will offer their advice in these key moments. So what has been the best advice you ever received in your own life?
best ever advice, which was 3 teachings, came from mom & dad. dad; always try your best no matter what it is & work 1st, play later! mom: be disciplined in everything you do. i listened to them & have always applied those lessons in my life & partly because of mom & dad, i have lived & continue to live a massively fulfilling life.

My mom always told me that being brave doesn't mean not being scared. Nobody is fearless. It's when you're scared and do it anyway that shows you have courage.

And I would like add on a part about how to have the courage to "do it anyway", and that's by putting trust in God in his plan for you!

Have a blessed day ❤
i love this. that attitude is rare. i liken this to people who reached the other side, meaning, there are few who really know how to get things done, take the chance, completely & totally try their best & don't quit! that's how my mom & dad taught me. good for you Jo.
