Faith = pistis (GM) meaning to be assured of have assurance, confidence,
 
So then it seems like faith is having confidence in something because you’ve had past experiences and that you can look back on them to be repeatable.

We could never have faith in Christ if this is the case. It must be deeper than this

honestly, you have a very poetic way of putting that and I appreciate it. The only problem is that I have heard Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses say the same thing about what they believe. So I would like to know what method you use to find the truth.

Who is their faith in and why?

is it in God, or is it in their own deeds?
