I know what you are saying sister. Nevertheless King Jehoshaphat gathered all the people together to call upon the Lord for help. Nor did he despise the gifts of the Holy Spirit as some do. And the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahazeal the son of Zechariah and what God told them to do they did to the last dot and comma.
Clear away the clutter of the mind and heart, make way, make way, the law is gone what we have now is life, even the life of God's own Son dwelling in us.
The only good we will ever do or be will be if we allow Christ to manifest Himself IN US.

I do not understand how so many Christian minds find the love the law represents so obnoxious. You say it is clutter, others say it is dead and worse. Some say they have love and love is opposed to law. Law guides to Christ who is love. Law shows us how to live with Christ within us, for Christ lives only within the law. This is clutter? I don't think so, it is order and love.
The way I see it, Its obnoxious because it is looking to something that as paul said was so burdensome even the fathers could not bear. When someone looks to the law. And does not see how evil they are. How putrid they are. How their works looks so much like dirty bloody rags compared to the perfect law of God. Something is wrong. Its like the pharisee who pumps his chest thanking god e is not like the sinner. Why? He is looking to the law. And thinking he is righteous because he obays and loves it.
The law was not given to show you HOW to live, It was given to show you how much you fail.
What was burdensome was not he spirit of the law, it was the fleshly commands of fleshly things to do to lead them to the law like cutting skin. Cutting skin is not and never was from God's love, it was a schoolmaster to lead them to using it to identify themselves as belonging to the one true God. It was a command that Christ took away.
And the law does have to do with love. Can you murder if you love? Can you bare false witness if you love? You you manage to separate the love and the law?
Christ gives us His righteousness when Christ forgives our sin. Are you saying you reject the righteousness you are given, but you are still deep in sin and dead in your sins? You say you use the law ONLY to tell you how you fail, that you live in failure? If you would accept the gift God wants to give you of forgiveness, you could live in the righteousness that is gifted to you by the Lord.
You can't have this gift of righteousness if you decide you accept sin and not the law that tells you what sin is that you hare to give up in repentance.
The spirit of the law is perfection. It is that we have all sinned and fallen short of Gods standard. That christ came to free us from the bonds of the law. and the penalty of the law.
When you look to the law. You should get sick, You should get on your knees, You should cry out to God and confess what a wretched sinner you are.
If you look to the law and it does not bring you to this. Then you do not understand the law.
That why the jew did not understand the law. They watered it down. Jesus tried to show then that in the sermon on the mount, ”the law says this, But I tell you” But sadly they did not get it still. And hated him even more.
They hated him because he told them the truth about the law. And about their own status.
That is not the only way that scripture tells us to look at the law. We are not to get sick because of our sin, we are to glory and be thankful to God for saving us from our sin, for gifting us with righteousness.
God is about love, joy and peace. We can live guilt free through Christ. We can read the 119th Psalm and use it for prayer to the Lord as we thank Him for the law and all this psalm tells us about the law. When we use the law to know we are sinful it sends us to Christ, not to wallowing in self pity because we are sinful. Christ saves us from that.
Am sitting here laughing as I read this, At the same crying. Because you do not seem to get what I am saying and what the scripture says about the law
Yes we can live guilt free. But that does not mean we go back and look at the very thing that proved our guilt. And think it is ok now because I am guilt free.
That does 2 things
1. It waters down the law
2. I makes us take our eyes of of how sinful we are. And we start excusing our sin. Yet at the same time, since we preach law. it makes us have to account for it. So we become judgmental. And self righteous. And start to attack other people more sinful that we are. And start telling people thy just want to get rid f law to excuse their sin. When it is them who are excusing their own sin.
Some thoughts on law and our Christian walk, sanctification and holiness.
"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." (Gal 3:24-25, KJV)
Paul speaks of "the law" so he is speaking from a Jewish perspective, being a Jew. Gentiles were not under "the law", Rom. 2:14, 15.
"The earlier rules are repealed as ineffective and useless, since the law brought nothing to perfection; and a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God." (Heb 7:18-19, REB)
"It follows that there is now no condemnation for those who are united with Christ Jesus. In Christ Jesus the life-giving law of the Spirit has set you free from the law of sin and death. What the law could not do, because human weakness robbed it of all potency, God has done: by sending his own Son in the likeness of our sinful nature and to deal with sin, he has passed judgement against sin within that very nature, so that the commandment of the law may find fulfilment in us, whose conduct is no longer controlled by the old nature, but by the Spirit." (Rom 8:1-4, REB)
The law sanctified no one nor brought him to perfection, and to my memory, nowhere is that stated to be the case in Scripture. We are sanctified or made holy by the word of God made powerful to us by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." (John 17:17, KJV)
"That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." (Eph 5:26-27, KJV)
"May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this." (1Thess 5:23-24, NRSV)

The law is of God, and what is of God is OK. Sin is not OK, it kills, but the law is not sin.
If you refuse to look at what God created to guide you, how can you be guided by Christ? I dare you to read the 119th Psalm. It was written by the breath of God. It starts out with how happy is the man who lives by the Lord's instructions.
The Lord takes away the doom and gloom of man, the Lord does not want unhappiness and doom for us.
Your right, the law is not sin, It was made to expose sin. How c=you can look at it and think you are ok astonishes me.. Where does that come from?
He created it to LEAD ME TO CHRIST. Not guide me in my life.
Your right though, He does not want doom and gloom and unhappiness. Thats WHY he fulfilled the law. And WHY he said after we have come to him, we no longer need the law.
As the good book says, The law was not made for the righteous (those in Christ) but the sinner (those who do not have christ.
why do you want people to go back to a law which can not help them?

" Bearing the fruit of the Spirit is How God is glorified . As longer as you are measuring truth by scripture.. That is how you stay in Gods Will His will is His Word. "Continue in my Word". The rest is a lot of backscatter. and static.
It comes from God. God told me he would cleanse me of all sin if I repented. It is not me, it is God within me.

This is what I have been saying. We are to continue in his word, and his word includes the law to guide us. God does not say to continue in all my word except when I tell you of the spirit of the law. Imagine living in a world where there was no law against murder, or no law at all? Even the fleshly world could not manage. We live in a world of the spirit.
Sure I agree. Which brings us to revelation of the use of the Word in our regeneration . The Bible is more than the revelation of God to Man as well and the history of Gods interaction with humanity. The whole counsel of God includes the 5 Books of Moses and the dispensation of the Old Covenant . Is still profitable for reproof correction and instruction in righteousness. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds . This is the washing and regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit when we read His book and keep it's author The Holy Spirit close to our souls. We with open face as beholding in a mirror the Glory of the Lord are changed into the same image from Glory to Glory even as by the spirit of the Lord. Jesus said , "My Words they are Spirit and the are Life". Indeed we are made partakers of the divine nature by exceeding great and precious promises. Ephesians talks of the washing of water by the word. We need to keep our souls in contact with the scriptures. The Holy Spirit interacts with the scriptures and brings them to our remembrance to lead us and guide us. It's a supernatural book and has a big part to play in our knowing Christ and being conformed to His image.

It will cause you to sin if you try to earn righteousness by it. The flesh is always in rebellion to God, always will be. When you command it to not do something it rises up in utter rebellion and says I will.
The law says you must not
The flesh mulls it over and BANG
you are doing it.
The law magnifies sin, it shows you what sin is and then you start searching inwardly to see if it is there, now you are tempted.
When God said you must keep My law the devil did everything he could to make people disobey
Now that God has abolished the law as a means to righteousness the devil does all he can to bring men and women back under it's yoke.
Always disobedient to the voice of God. When He says mourn and be sad folks get out their fiddles for a merry dance, when God says laugh and rejoice they put on their sackcloth and ashes.
The law is for learning and instruction, it reminds us what we were, it shows us why we were estranged from God, why death and poverty came upon mankind and sickness and sorrow.
It did as you say lead us to Christ.
But having come to Christ, don't then turn back to what condemned you. Christ is the end of the law to those who believe.
