you're trying to justify all the world being under the law of Moses by referring to the wrong covenant - see Romans 3:13-15
Abraham didn't have the law.

Doesn't sound like He did away with it, He actually added to it.

Jesus did not add to it. Jesus supersedes the law, having fulfilled the Law, all authority, even that over the Law, is given to Him. And, similar @JohnDB's explanation of the peculiarity of a woman's enhanced discernment toward taste which is found elsewhere in these forums, His declarations demonstrate His righteous discernment. He is able to detect even the slightest hint of murder, adultery, et. al.

I can obey the letter of the law perfectly and I have.
I have never committed adultery according to the letter of the law.
Though I have failed innumerable times to obey the spirit of the law regarding adultery.

The literal commandments or the deeper level of the deeds of the flesh.
Jesus threw a spanner into the works of the law.
The original covenant in Exodus 24 involved the spoken word of God.
The commandments were not written on stone in the first covenant below.
Exodus 24:8
So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said,
“Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
These ten commandments are not mentioned anywhere in Genesis.

The prophets and the entire law was fulfilled by Jesus and the law is redundant.
All I need is one letter of the law to pass, to expire.
Negative, the law was first SPOKEN to Israel (Exodus 24), and the law was written by Moses.
No one is going to heaven because they obeyed the literal ten commandments.

We are saved by grace not by works. God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him...

He gives eternal life to those who obey Him...

Jesus made it crystal clear that His commandments are not the ten given to Moses. Read the Sermon on the Mount again. What legalists fail to see is that the Law of Moses is merely the shadow. Jesus turned the Law from difficult to impossible. Romans 7 tells of Paul's struggle with the laws and then Romans 8 gives the answer. I care so little for the Law that I'm not sure that I could quote the commandments accurately.
We are called to obey Christ, not a set of rules. The Law exposes the dead heart of man. It's intent is to lead us to Christ, not to weigh us down with burdens that we cannot carry.
Faith without works is no faith at all. It is DEAD.

The 10 commandments were written in stone as an enduring witness against Israel. They weren't on display for everyone to see; they were hidden away in the ark of the covenant beneath the seat of atonement where blood was applied yearly to cover Israel's sins against God as defined on those tablets. The cast images of two cherubim stood over the hidden tablets as witnesses to slay anyone who dared approach God's throne without blood to cover violations against righteousness that the 10 commandments required, similar to how cherubim with flaming sword stood at the entrance to God's presence in Eden to keep man from eating from the tree of life.
So the 10 commandments on stone are not the doorway to life, they are the doorway to death. Only one man could pass through that doorway and live to God, through whom we can now enter and eat of the tree of life because of his shed blood.
