First of all, hopely you do not compare finnish countryside to Swiss countryside... yours would win for sure. :D
Well, I wouldn't want to bet on that, but the pictures I've seen of your area look good too.

And is it so that people in there want to move to a countryside? Because in here it is the opposite. People want to go to larger towns and countryside becomes empty.
That's probably a matter of taste. Everything is relatively close together here. I recently moved, and before that I lived in the countryside. Even so, it only took me 12 minutes to get to the city by car. Now I don't live right in the city, but I'm more central than before.

So here, you can get a house even for 5k€, that house has a lable "to be demolished", you don't have to do that, but the seller wants no responsibility for what problems you will find in that house..
Also I have seen 25k€ for a habitable house, that just needs some upgrading, and may or may not have problems somewhere.. or then there just is no job opportunities around.
These are the houses that are mostly build within 2 decades after the war...
I almost expected that, but we hardly have anything like that here. Real estate is very expensive here. But it doesn't sound so bad for you. At least you have your peace and quiet.

(And in case an emergency does arise, we'll post a call for help here on the forum and put together a team to come over to fix the house. And then we'll tell that HGTV (Home and Garden TV) and they'll surely make a documentary about it.)

You are very welcome to move to Finland  I'll gladly show you those fixer uppers, so you can get your own sawdust house.
Well, maybe, but then I'd have first to take some language lessons from the elderly lady I know from church and whom I help with all technical things. She's also from Finland. :)

or should I have just sent you the inside of my car?
 Good idea then I can just put it in the washing machine. Or the dishwasher...

Or maybe I just wait until you decide to get those sawdust houses from here and I can redeem that car cleaning then.:p
That's also an option, but then you have to make sure you have a bucket ready for the water. Do you have one? ;)

I know that feeling all too well. Especially from my earlier days, it's not quite as bad now.
For me it seems to go anotherway around.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one this happens to.
Exactly! It feels like I am the only one! :D

That is what everyone thinks when I mention countryside... Imagine some company buying land next to you and making it their junk yard..

All I can say to that is.. good luck

My poor car...

Ha! And I thought I might get an another free bucket from you.. oh, well, I might have, maybe, just ..one ..bucket.

Why? Is it really that difficult? I once "studied" Norwegian and Swedish a little, which are very similar. But I've heard that Finnish is quite different. What do you say about this?

Please don't offend my machines, they are very good machines and do their job great!

 All right, you've convinced me. I'll bring you one. In my national flag design.

Today was the first day I wasn't in pain. My foot pain finally subsided about 3 days ago thanks to the stretch technique in that video I found, although I still limp a little. I also had this neck sprain/pulled muscle for about 3 weeks and nothing really helped. A couple nights ago I found a video from a doctor on youtube explaining "why your neck pain isn't going away" and she showed a different stretch I haven't seen. You grab the bottom back corner of the chair you're sitting in and you turn your head 45 degrees then pull your head downward with your hand. It worked, although it took a few days to get rid of the pain. So today I was able to go about doing things without annoying, disheartening pain.

Ok I should have known it wouldn't be that easy. The neck pain is back this morning, but it's not quite as bad as before. Ok I'll stop talking about my aches and pains now.

Yeah, Norwegian and Swedish are germanic languages, so it might be easier for some to learn those..
Maybe finnish noun case conjugations, might be the hardest part if someone is learning finnish.
Don't ask me to name those 15 cases, I never learned them by name. Put this word in "ablatiivi", hmm, ehh, what... o_O:ROFL:

Could you at least leave the knives and forks out from that load..?
And then the question remains, how long will insides of my car be staying in your dishwasher...

Okay, so what did you manage to do today? :D
Some task that had been lingering around for days, weeks, months or even years .. krhhmm, not that I would speak from the experience..

For me sometimes it is hard to start doing something. Somedays I would have the energy but certainly not the mood! Or vice versa. So it can be helpful for me to talk to someone while I do something, but for example my sis doesn't want me to do things while I am on the phone with her, she cannot hear a thing. I don't know if it is just the connection between us, because my brother nor any of my aunts have never complained of not hearing and I even asked them about it.

Also I'm getting the inspiration via what others are doing. Even from putting a video of someone doing some chore or reno in the background. Audio books, yes, but I never know what to listen, so that is a problem. If I find a good sermon, and what I need to do is easy (like oiling the sauna etc), then I can listen to it and really focus on the sermon at he same time.
But talking to someone while I do things is really good option, and I mean via phone, because of course I give my attention to the one who is visiting me.. unless it is my brother :D then I do stuff while talking to him.. or he just eats food I made for him while I do something else.

I never thought that I am the person who wants someone to be there when I do things, like my brother wants (but I guess it does inspire me). He once was doing something for me, either plumbing or electrical work and I was just standing there next to him while he explained by mumbling to me what he was doing. So I deciced I would do something else as I was no big help to him.. As I was leaving he asked: "Where you are going?" in a voice that said dare to leave! So I stayed. He likes to have someone near and just even give him some tools if needed, but mostly for that he likes to tell what he is doing. And sometimes I even ask him, because I know he likes to explain things... even tho time to time I do not understand a thing he says
Also if I have someone to do things with me, it does not feel like such a huge task, like painting the house, doing that alone would feel like it never ends..

So, what I finally managed to do.. after a week of nightshifts, which made me feel not alive at all and it was super hard to start doing anything. But finally I managed to to this I have been putting off for at least a year.. Well, I kind of HAD to it at this point.
Cleaning my powder rooms water trap under the sink, the sink was almost fully clogged at this point.
It would have been an easy job (and I would have done it earlier), unless the cabinet under my sink would not be missing few screws on one hinge, that I am still unable to install back, the screw holes are too messed up to put it back, door stayed there just by leaning to the other door. (I so wish that the cabinet would be made of wood, but no.. and, yes I probably should ask someone to do it, I certainly do not want to buy a new cabinet because of that one door/hinge!)

I removed that one door and then it was easy to dismember all those hair monsters that lived in the water trap and pipes. And now I have only one door on my cabinet... that is my next mission ..for some day ..or year. Maybe just a curtain as a quick fix at first. So the main thing was a easy task, but the other did not get finished. And that bothers me a lot.

Starting the tasks is hard depending on different things, I may not have tools at the moment for it (tools may be at my brothers place), nor the materials.. Or sometimes it is lack of my skills, because I may not have a idea how it is really done. Like the hinge situation on my cabinet..

For me, summer is better for my mood, or spring as it is so light so long, I usually get my inspiration to do things when it is evening, and in winter it means darkness. Which also means I am not so eager to do things..
Also when it is warmer and bright outside, my energy levels boosts up with those.

~ ~ ~ ~

So, it is hard to you to start the tasks? Or you can start easy and it is hard to finish them?

Or you don't face this problem at all? How, what is your super power?

What gives you the boost to do things?

Do you listen to radio, music or podcasts? Sermon maybe?

Do you do better if someone is over? Or when you are alone? While on a phone call?

If you are married, do you feel easier to do things now or back then when you lived alone? Do you prefer to do things together?

What are the factors that affect you? Time of the day, darkness etc?

Do you set up a time for some tasks?

Do you write up the things you need to do in order to get them done?

And the main question, what you managed to do today?
This weekend I have not done much more than go to church, visit my parents, take walks and do a bit of cleaning. Yesterday I went for a 12.5 km walk, and today a bit more than 6 km.

I always find it easier to do things for others than for myself. If I have to push myself to do something, it often helps to listen to piano music by Chopin, especially his Nocturnes. While driving, I sometimes listen to sermons. I also find it easier to work when I am not alone.

As a fellow Finn, I am a bit curious about where in Finland you live.

Yeah, Norwegian and Swedish are germanic languages, so it might be easier for some to learn those..
Maybe finnish noun case conjugations, might be the hardest part if someone is learning finnish.
Don't ask me to name those 15 cases, I never learned them by name. Put this word in "ablatiivi", hmm, ehh, what... o_O:ROFL:
Interesting! (y)
Swiss German is easier in that regard, as there are simply no (official) grammatical rules! 😆

I heard that there is an island that belongs to Finland, but where Swedish is mainly spoken. Aland or something like that? I found that kind of funny. :giggle:

Could you at least leave the knives and forks out from that load..?
I still need to think about that. After all, it means I would have to do one more wash cycle, which in turn requires more water and soap. 😆

And then the question remains, how long will insides of my car be staying in your dishwasher...
Until it's clean, obviously. ;)

This morning I annoyed someone on CC.

I read 'What have you done?!' and immediately feel guilty.
