There are numerous examples of Christians and their countries who abandon Jesus and God completely.

The peoples of these countries were once fervant Christians before they changed and became murderers.

The BIG QUESTION is, " Are they still saved because they believed in Jesus at one time?

I think you asked the same question a bit differently in another thread.
There are no Christian nations and never was. As for those who turn away, well they turn away. The Bible warms us of such.

If you deny the Lord, he will deny you before the angels of God. They that have fallen away need to repent, ask forgiveness and rejoin the heavenly family. Keep in mind, many Christians will fall away and worship Satan when he comes working miracles and claiming to be God, II Thes 2:1-4. They were never taught that Satan comes first at the 6th trump and Jesus returns at the 7th. They will be praying for the mountains to fall on them when the real Lord returns and they realize they were deceived into worshipping Satan. Thank God for the millennium when all will be taught the truth.

No murderer hath eternal life abiding in him, saith the scripture.

a country is not really a soul so, I dont think you can say there are christian nations.
Usually people in most countries around the world that have a justice system would usually incarcarate a murderer so that other people might be safe if they ever think about doing it again.

Although there are probably be murderers around that never get arrested or convicted. However God sees all of this and will judge accordingly.

If a person is believing in Jesus when they die, they go to heaven.

if a person is not believing in Jesus when they die, they go to hell.

It is written that some pagans (gentiles) have the truth inscribed on their hearts with their own coscineces accusing or excusing them while they act.
God has said that some are disobedient by His own design, adn He also says, so what should I justify the ungodly.

All the above have stressed the teaching not to judge lest I be judged. And so it goes.

"Christian nation" is a misnomer as it implies all on that nation are saved individuals. And murderers are murderers. Unless they believe, confess belief, repent, and are baptized, they are lost. There also is no such thing as last minute salvation upon your death bed. It still requires the aforementioned to be saved.

The thief on the cross...
But, while the theif on the cross turned to Jesus for his salvation at the last moments of his life, many who once embraced Jesus have rejected and left Him and the faith before their death. What is their fate, heaven or hell? Once saved always saved or not?????

And make no mistake, there are many who accepted Jesus who later rejected Him in their lives, many/many/many!!!!!!!!

The thief on the cross misconceptions

I continually encounter people trying to justify that baptism is not an absolute necessity for one's salvation by use (erroneously) of the thief on the cross as justification, as he was not baptized but yet saved by the Lord, which is true! BUT, the error in this is the lack of understanding of the scriptures. You must read and understand Hebrews 9:15-17 which clarifies why the thief on the cross was saved by Jesus without being baptized. Christ was still alive when this occurred meaning it was done while the old testament or covenant was still in effect; the new testament had not yet been established because Christ had not yet died. And since the Lord was still alive no one could possibly be baptized into Christ under NT salvation criteria. Baptism did not become a requirement as part of salvation until the new testament began which was after the death of Christ. Jesus forgave the thief on the cross no different than he forgave others during his earthly ministry, such as the woman caught in the act of adultery as recorded in John 8. Baptism should not even be an issue when discussing the thief on the cross, but unfortunately always is, but in error.

Hebrews 9:15-17

15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

We are not told whether he was baptized or not. Saying it is true is an assumption.

Better just to admit you were wrong. The thief's conversion counts as last minute salvation.

No it doesn't, not at all norvam I wrong nor the scriptures.

The thief was forgiven mo different than the adulterous woman. It was while Jesus was yet alive, doing so under the old covenant not the new. Baptism was mot an issue for salvation then as it is today and should nit even come into the conversation.

Because the Lord uniquely forgave the thief at last minute is not nor should not be considered the norm as it wad under the old covenant not the new. If it were the norm, the new covenant teachings would be void an invalid and a falsehood.

You said, There also is no such thing as last minute salvation upon your death bed, in Bible. Thief on cross counts as such.

Norm or not, OC or not, it still counts as a Biblical example of last minute salvation.
