What exactly is "Whey Protein"?

So... I just bought an 18 pack of the Gatorade recover whey protein bars... and I find them to be delicious, but I don't want to eat too much of them as I'm thinking that it's got too much fat or protein or whatever in it to be having more than 1.5 max (they're pretty big bars). But yeah... I used to think "Whey protein" was a brand or whatever. Is this just a cute little wordplay on the word weight? As if you want to gain muscle weight? Anybody consume this stuff and know how much you're supposed to consume and exactly why? Any info will help :D I am working out currently too I just don't want to overeat by accident with these dangerously delicious bars! ;p

Whey is the watery by-product that results from the cheese-making process. The curds become cheese, the whey is often evaporated to get rid of the moisture, and the resulting powder is used as a protein source for human and animal consumption.
 
I take ultra-pure whey protein and get 60 grams in one protein shake and take in over 200g of protein most days. Since you workout, it's definitely good for you. In general, I think most people that workout take around one gram of protein per pound of body weight(I take more), so you're fine. You're not going to overeat them lol.
 
Not the healthiest food for the long term, but good for building muscles. I have always said body builders have the best looking bodies in the cemeteries.

for older-folks, it is definitely something that they should add to their diets,
it will help in so many ways...
 
Whey protein supplements are a waste of money

I agree most sold at body building/vitamin shops need to be background checked b/c some make outrageous claims of high protein when in reality your better off eating a steak lol...
 
Studies show to much animal protein speeds up aging. It is a inflammatory, and hard to digest. It also is a contributor to the development of cancer. When I was counseling people, I would tell younger people that symptomatically you can get away with it until about your late 30's to around your mid 40's, then it will begin to manifest and you'll begin to feel the adverse effects of it.
 
I look at it this way. God told us what to eat in Genesis. Our world has changed considerably since then, Of course we have can't go back to the pristine state of the garden. Though what we can control in our lives, why not do it?
A cows milk? That is designed for cows. To grow them to over a thousand pounds. Why would we want to mess up our systems with that?
No milk, I say. Except mothers milk. Or, if you just have to, then goats milk. They are a lot closer to our size and weight,
