" The unsaved man cannot believe the Gospel unless he's zapped first " There is no verses that says this ,so calvinism has taken 1 cor 2.14 ever since and most assume this is talking about a lost man . And ' spiritual ' has been twisted to mean " man has Holy Spirit ' instead of ' mature ' . Then we read in just a few verses along The immature believer cannot understand the things of the Spirit and I'm the idiot? So we have 3 people. This Random non sequitur in verse 14 . But Chapter 3 literally says the same thing about believers not understanding the things of the Spirit and being unable. I realise ' the natural man ' is the most used verse in Christianity ' but Paul is not saying " the unsaved cannot believe the Gospel .

I thought we were all born into the world enemies , haters , dead , ect . 'Natural ' is not a negative. The Quickening ' as we should realise from hundreds of other verses happened After we believed. The idea isn't that we were asleep one night and God zapped us randomly and then we woke up in the morning " oh , I think I believe in Jesus , how did that happen? , I must have been regenerated in the night " .

( Regeneration precedes faith) Which is the most absurd idea to have ever come out of Christianity. That is what I have been doing...I don’t always get the understanding in an instance,I believe in faith that I will receive it....God knows your heart and if you truly desire to understand he will help you,he truly will.

The faith in view is the eternal faith of God. His faith works in us as the power of God repenting us to both will and do His good pleasure .Of our own self we have no power to repent .Its all one work of salvation or regeneration. Not multiple steps to believe

Salvation.
God performing his work of faith or a labor of His love that he works in us to both will and empower us to perform that which is appointed to us. Work with the power that works in us yoked with Him . Do so without murmuring like that of Jonas who wanted to die. .
