Those poor plants lol. I'm good with inside plants, but absolutely terrible with outside plants. Toxic thumb. Whenever I enter a greenhouse, plants just start dying.

You mentioned powder room...that's what I call the bathroom! I feel like it's a nice ladylike way to say bathroom lol.

If y'all will excuse me, I must visit the powder room.

Could you revive my indoor plants then? :D Although, those were originally bought for outdoors, but does it matter? It is a indoor plants if it is indoors, right?

Or is it a half bath then? Water Closet? (We call it WC here)
Just a room with toilet and sink.. other is a BATHroom, room with a shower without a toilet.

When I looked up the Google definition, it said that the powder room was a half-bathroom with a toilet and sink. It's quite a luxury, as most living spaces will just put in a full bathroom. People also call it a half-bath. Now that I think about it, my grandparents had one in their basement, as it was furnished enough for guests to socialize in, but no one actually lived in the basement (so they didn't see a need for a full bathroom there.)

But, this might also be a regional thing, as terms and definitions can vary greatly all over the USA. :)

One term I don't hear over here is "water closet," but if it's a cool thing to hear someone refer to. To me, it means they've had experience living overseas or maybe grew up with parents who lived in another country.

This illustrates another reason why I love having people from all corners of the globe in this thread.

Maybe it's just because of where I grew up, but I don't hear the term "powder room" all that often, as I'm not sure how many people here in the USA have them (a half bath, typically with just a toilet and a sink.) I can't remember but I can only recall living in one or two places that had one. So, you were quite wise to choose the full bathroom as a reference for this thread! :D

Your shower curtain is very pretty, and those sauna scents sound so relaxing. I would try to trade you my denture tablets for those, but alas, prolonged scent gives me a headache (I've had to give up my beloved candles.)

Notice I keep trying to trade people for things with my denture tablets. I guess it's because I have SO MANY of them, I almost feel rich!! My wallet might have butterflies, but my stash of denture tablets is NEARLY UNLIMITED!! Muhahaha!!

And please forgive me @Tazzo, but I laughed out loud at the dead plants, because I was thinking my plants would look that way too if I had any family living with me that shared the bathroom! (Yes, I'm blaming it on them!)

I LOVED seeing this peek into your living space... One of these days we might even find your secret stash of free buckets!! :)

To me the BATH part makes it a place were you take a bath (even tho we usually don't have a bathtub in here), and it may or may not have a toilet there.
And our word for bathroom is a literal translation and for a half bath it is WC..

I am starting to question, what kind of denture tablets business you in?? is it legal? 😆

Oh, there is a sneak peak of a one bucket next to that sink... 😁

I agree with you that the "bath" part of "bathroom" should be a firm definition...

As for my Denture Tablet Side Hustle...

I can't reveal too much, lest I get myself in trouble with the authorities -- but it may or may not be the by-product of having a Costco (discount warehouse on giant sizes of everything) membership.:cool:

It's a good thing you have that bucket right and ready.

You're going to need it to carry all those tablets! :p

I'll be right over with my wand of smashingness to get those plants in top shape!!

We already have our own Uncle John's bathroom readers. All purpose extra strength, unstoppable...

As much as I love physical books... the thought of one that's been sitting around and passed amongst years of... "guests" to the restroom... is a bit... Um.

Well.

I was sure this offer would be irresistible.

I'm thinking we're watching the origins of a Super Hero story right before our very eyes.

Move over Harry Potter and company.

Even though no wand was involved, my mind went back to the vegemite

Clearly I still haven't finished fixing this image lol.

Those plants look like ivy, and I'm pretty sure that English ivy, especially, has categorically been designated as an invasive species. And you have them sitting next to the handiest spot to water...

 Seriously the plants I had in the bathroom did terribly except for the Pothos, otherwise known as the devil's ivy. It hangs on tenaciously.

And if any one is interested in even more ridiculousness -- we have a thread going in the Family Forum asking what people's spirit animals is.

Imagine my surprise at finding out that Lynx's spirit animal isn't actually a Lynx...

But the one he chose totally fits.
I'm all about ridiculousness, but I'm not sure Michael Jackson qualifies as a spirit animal. Hee..hee..hee!

But since you cannot handle the scents (unfortunately), I'll swap them to a closest things (sorry, not from a bathroom) tar flavoured candy (pastill)!

I'll take those tablets (bucket loads) and be quiet about their whereabouts and where I got them:D Your secret is safe with me!

There is a reason Pothos are called "Devil's Ivy" for sure.

But I've STILL killed several of them in my day (in my defense, it was usually when trying to propagate new plants.) I could get them to root in water, but alas, once I moved them to soil, it was all over. And I've tried cuttings just in soil, but it seems my black thumbs gave them the kiss of death along the way.

And, despite every plants worst nightmare, I keep trying.

(I'm looking forward to stalking more victims soon -- the shops here haven't quite gotten much to chose from just yet, but I know it will be soon!) Muhahaha!

Take a shot at a zz plant, otherwise known as the plant of iron or something like that. Cuttings also take root well in water and I have a few branches in a tall opaque vase that my son gifted me this past Mother's Day. I've decided to just leave them in there as they look just fine dressed in fabric or tissue wrap (Chantal Organza Floral Florist Flower Wrap Sheets Fabric Sparkle).

Well I've got a big storage cupboard in the bathroom so I can put a spare pillow, wax melts, and an old humidifier on the table.

And for my next round of stuff there's a cafeteria tray, a collapsible travel duffel, and disposable cookie sheets.

Only in the morning. And only as an act.

No bathroom is complete without a whimsical frog valet to hold the ladies and gents napkins 🎩

Fair trade for the hazmat suit? Some protection might allay the trauma of my trade, because the bathroom is the no man's wasteland in many vacated rental properties. :censored:
