Amplified Bible (AMP), New International Version, Expanded Bible (EXB) and Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB), the last one since it allows you to review words in biblical hebrew. The root meaning of these words can enrich the comprehension of the passages. For instance, my favourite biblical hebrew word is ahava, which means love, and the root of the word (ahav) means "to give". I believe our lord was thouroughly aware that the essential meaning and manifestation of love is "giving", so when describing the love of the Father, He uses a fact that involves fundamentally the act of giving.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
