that reminds me of a friend who didn't like sitting around being useless. so 1 day a bunch of us were talking about planning the day & he mentioned that 1 of his friends was a deadhead who hardly was interested in anything. so he said about him,
"if you hang out with that guy, you'll watch the river go by"! so phunnneee!
I might have a little bit of that guy in me (now that you mention it) at least I feel that way at times, especially working with computers.
I also thought it would be funny to say, because my dad used to say when something was boring, that it’s like watching paint dry.
I never heard of the river going by before but I can see the similarities.
I hope you and your wife have a happy Valentine’s Day (if you celebrate this holiday)

I’ve never heard of that tavern. I’ve always wanted to eat at the hobbit in Orange , Ca where I’m from. You got to reserve a spot over 6 months or longer in advanced. You get to eat a multi course meal and in multiple rooms from what I’ve heard and each portion leads you further and further into the basements of the restaurant as you are being served.

Here is the Google description:

The Hobbit in Orange, California, is a long-standing, unique fine-dining restaurant known for its multi-course, prix-fixe tasting menu that takes guests through different rooms, starting in the wine cellar for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before moving to the dining room for the main courses. It offers an intimate, elegant atmosphere in a converted farmhouse, with a focus on expertly prepared French and contemporary cuisine, an extensive wine list, and impeccable service, making it a destination for special occasions. Reservations are essential due to limited seating.

Dining Experience
  • Multi-Course Journey:

I thought you guys would love it. I had a multi course restaurant very similar to it for thanksgiving with my friends family and I felt like I was the wealthiest king to ever exist, which was down the street from that place.
I could only imagine how romantic The Hobbit is, especially since it’s either a two guest experience or a 50 guest experience with on two seater tables. Everyone in that city talks about wanting to get a table there though.
its only a short drive away from Villa Park which had the highest capita per household in the USA when I was going to high school there in 2002-2006. The high school was so competitive sportswise, that it would scout for students at different high school to join ours. It was wild times and such an experience, beyond blessed.

You have to say it with a French accent speaking like Antonio Banderas.
Very clever 😂 Pretty much! Hollywood is hilarious sometimes. “How can we market this movie to the biggest demographics living in America?” “Just put an English title with a spanishy subtitle!” “Okay, how about?….” Thus, this title movie title was born… 😂
