The Last Kingdom on Netflix! For the second time haha.
Excellent series based on historical fact, so quite interesting from that standpoint also. During shows like that I learn a fair bit because I am constantly wondering which parts are true and which parts are not, understanding quite well that dramatizations are inserted freely to spice up the story, LOL, so I find myself doing a lot of research just to be clear on things. Also, I mentioned this show just the other day in this thread (<= link) as Uhtred did make me think he would make an excellent movie Jesus, and I have only ever thought that of one other character, "the Stranger" as he is called in the German mind-bending time travel story of Dark, which I am now watching for the second time.

I liked this. Christian apologist Wes Huff answers questions from a bunch of guys from other religions (but mostly the religion of the world). He presents an excellent and gracious defense of the gospel.

Private Eyes, an interesting series on 2 Private Investigators and I must say I'm very impressed what Toronto has created here👏👍

Gladiator 2. Funnily enough, the reason I watched this was because Denzel is in it. Unfortunately, I was not keen on Denzel in this movie. Otherwise, for the most part though, I found it to be entertaining. The sharks in the arena scene, although not historically accurate, was particularly entertaining...

I've never watched 1 or 2, but that shark scene was rather entertaining 😂

I used to like Denzel, but once he started claiming to be a Christian, i began losing interest in him.
Especially after The Book of Eli. Which he not only starred in, but was also heavily involved in writing the script.
And some of that movie was hard to get through. But at the end (spoilers) we find out he had been after the Bible this whole time, but then it's placed on a shelf with other religious books of all kinds. It seemed to kind of put the Bible as equal to other religious books, such as Islam.
Wouldn't have bothered me so much if it wasn't someone claiming to be Christian. But in this case it irked me.

I've seen Book of Eli. Thank you for pointing that out!

I found it hard to watch him in the role he played in Gladiator 2, considering he claims to be a Christian. And then I read about the deleted scenes and I was even more skeptical. Just personally speaking, if I was an actor, I wouldn't be able to act in that role as a Christian.

I feel that way about anyone in acting claiming to be a Christian.
It's pretty much impossible to be an actor and not compromise.
Look at Chris Pratt. He made all this noise about being Christian, but then I look at some of the parts he played and I simply cannot believe it.

Last Breath (2025) This movie came out earlier this year, starring Woody Harrelson. It's a true story about saturation divers, one becomes trapped. I really enjoyed it. Tense!

Escape Plan (2013) This came out over 10 years ago and I'm just now seeing it? Really enjoyed this movie. Arnold to Sly, "You hit like a vegetarian!"

Chaos (2005) It was just okay. It started out promising, but it mostly just dragged from there on. Some guy in the reviews said it's an action packed thriller. Someone get that guy some better action movies!

We're past Memorial Day, but it brings to mind some war movies.

Hacksaw Ridge is a tough one to watch, but I read that Mel Gibson got the history close. It was very well written, directed and acted. The set was ominous and unique.
You'll need a new box of cleanex to get to the end.

Ooops I almost gave the last scene

I'll have to put it in my queue and get a new box of tissues!

Statham did a very good job with that script. I like to slow down his fight choreography and study it. The guy is an amazing athlete.

I think my favorite Statham scene is when he poses as a priest in Expendables 2.

His last movie, A Working Man, came out in March. The trailer looks good. I intend to check it out when it's not so new and pricey.

I missed part 2 because I would've remembered a chick with a stick kicking butts. It warms my heart

I should see that one too.
That trailer sure did look good.
If you ever see a Denzel Washington movie preview coming soon, let me know. I want to watch everything that comes to the big screen he is in.
I read somewhere that he's making another sequel .
It read like an AI transcript so I'm not sure if it's true.

The Expendables 4 (2023) This had a lot of entertaining scenes, but who in the world thought it was a good idea to put Megan Fox in this one? She didn't look like she was ready to kick butt. In fact, she barely did any butt kicking at all. Such an incredibly small amount that it's not worth mentioning. With her attitude, makeup, clothing, hair, and manicure, she looked like she was ready to go to a night club. Right off she's really bleeping annoying. You find yourself hoping that she's offed by the bad guys.
But is she? No!
:poop:

Raw Deal (1986) When the newer movies fail, dig out another old Arnold movie. No complaints about the actress in this movie (Kathryn Harrold). When they are attacked in a clothing store she takes the arm off of a mannequin and starts hitting the bad guys 💪
