I sometimes bring out my old football games on vhs from the 90's, early 2000's. But old news threads, that would be interesting.

Kinda sappy for me, but I'm watching "Little Men". Never heard of it until last month. But the more Crap i see out of Hollywood these days, the more i like sappy.

I have TONS of VHS cassettes, having started TV recording in 1990. I may have amassed >700 over a ~25-year period. On many of them I have news items, like the first Pathfinder landing in the early 90s, and the first Iraq war. I also have X-Files, 4 species of Star Trek, Bugs Bunny, sports (Yankees World Series, for example), Sliders, and some old sitcoms, too. On these tapes are great commercials (GI Joe Nissan ad), old SciFi Channel bumpers, movie trailers for movies that are now classics, etc.

But, transporting these bad boys around every time I move is quite burdensome. 10 (or more?) plastic bins, the kind you buy in Target, are filled with video tapes. They take up a lot of space, and are heavy to move.

So, I am (slowly) going through each one of them. I digitize and save to disc memorable items, and then chuck the cassettes. I will save probably 10 or so cassettes that have special nostalgic value to me.

I have been watching a Spanish series called Entrevias in the original language, or Wrong Side of the Tracks. It is really
well done and despite the proliferation negative story lines, is quite amusing with the family dynamics and dialogues.

imdb storyline: When his teenage granddaughter falls victim to the drug dealers
overtaking his neighbourhood, a fed-up war veteran takes matters into his own hands.

Unfortunately, I haven't watched any of it yet. But thanks for reminding. Sounds like it's really good!
 
CALLAN (1967 - 1972): British Spy drama television series starring EDWARD WOODWARD as CALLAN. 44 episodes were produced, but only 34 episodes remain. A great show!

Edward Woodward was the best TV actor in history. I know that's coming from a guy who doesn't watch TV and very rarely since I was a kid, but I doubt if it's improving. There were a few vintage series that I grew up with. I never liked what was on modern television at the time. I discovered Callan on YouTube while looking for everything Woodward.

DAVID CALLAN was the name of a fictitious British Secret Service agent, and he was played by the English actor EDWARD WOODWARD (1930-2009) in the television series called CALLAN, which in turn was produced between the years 1967-1972.
 
The last movie I watched was Gods and Generals. That was deep, did you catch all that? the boy who sings The Bonnie Blue Flag in it is David Kincade, an Irish Republican pop star. The Irish are infamous for comparing the 1916 incident, in which London retook the Dublin Parliament Building on an Easter (Resurrection Sunday) to the fall of Richmond, Virginia in the American Civil War, in which Grant and Sherman destroyed the Confederate capitol on an Easter (Resurrection Morning). David Kincade was a no talent snot. Did you see him die jumping the fence in Pickett's Charge? Good riddance, he never wrote an original melody in his life, and his geography skills were just abysmal.
