Well, after seeing this post, I'm thinking that it's good to know that you haven't been grilled well done in light of your local catastrophes.

What am I thinking? I am looking out the window at light rain falling. It could be a heavy, destructive rain. So I am thankful. God gives us many things every day to be thankful for. 
I have not had to put a coat on yet this winter. It has not gotten cold enough for me
to wear gloves, yet, either. And since my parking space was moved recently to be close
to an exit, I no longer have to scrape my car when I want to go any where! God is good...

I am thinking about how time seems sped up compared to 10-20 years ago. A few years ago there was a guest on a radio show who asked his scientist friends if they thought time had sped up and to his surprise one of his physicist friends said time did speed up and he explained how but I don't remember what he said. Something to do with the planets and I think the sun. Anyway, the guest also said that he asked God why it feels like time goes by quicker and God told him that He has sped it up for a reason. I forget the reason.
You will notice I am staying right here instead of moving to there. That is one of the many reasons why.
Let me know if you want to move here. The asphalt doesn't buckle nearly as much where I live. The ambient temperature isn't nearly as hard on the roads in this area, you see.
Believe me, I've thought plenty about leaving here in recent years albeit more politically motivated than weather.

I am thinking about popping some popcorn with sea salt. That might not be highly intellectual, but it is tasty.

woke up this morning and the door was frozen shut -20 anyone? But is quit peaceful up here not a person out.
Growing up, I didn't see many homeless people (it was still an abundant problem, the regulations were just stricter.) Now I live in areas where you see the homeless all around, no matter how "fancy" the neighborhoods might be.
The average person seems to always say they never have enough time -- and every Christmas, we all sit around and ruminate over how quickly the past year went by.
I have often wondered, if, for the homeless, they feel as if they have the opposite problem -- that every day goes by much, much too slowly, and that they have an endless amount of time in front of them -- and if it seems so daunting, that this is why they try to escape reality.
It makes me sad, but many of the people here are on drugs, and even if you gave them a chance at employment, they couldn't pass a drug test or sustain what it would take to hold a job.
Ah, I used to have those days as well -- when you have to add at least an hour onto your morning "get ready time" for 1. getting out the door (because as you said, it might be frozen shut,) and 2. shoveling just enough snow to make a path to be able to get out of your driveway.

If only I had the ONE thing I REALLY want in THE WHOLE WORLD.

Why, sharks with laser beams attached to their heads, of course.
(This post was inspired by a chat with a CC friend about the recent Gladiator 2 movie, which neither of us has seen, but apparently they flood the Colosseum and fill it with sharks.)
I watched a YouTube clip of this scene, and one of the comments mentioned how cool it would have been to include Dr. Evil's favorite aquarium pets!
If only I had the ONE thing I REALLY want in THE WHOLE WORLD.
What would that be?

There's a financial chat I check in on and one of the members calls himself Cheese Pizza, so of course, whenever I see that name, I really, really want to pick up a cheese pizza (or 3) at the store.
Why couldn't have have called himself Supreme Pizza or Thin Crust Vegetable Pizza instead? I don't find those nearly as enticing.
But a good plain cheese pizza (and/or one with mushrooms?)
I'll fall weak to temptation every single time.

Many years ago the homeless was the topic of a radio talk show and the guest who knew a lot about the homeless in California said many of them actually choose to be homeless because they enjoy not having responsibilities. They can sleep all day, don't have to pay any bills, pay any taxes, go to work, etc... I know a lot of them didn't choose it and there are a lot who want help. There was a news story years ago about a homeless woman who was picked up by the police because she was doing something in a store and wouldn't leave. I think she was sleeping or something. When the cops searched her they found she had thousands of dollars in cash on her person. She had cash hidden in all the layers of clothes she was wearing. But she was just an old bag lady that the workers see everyday. It's the money people had been giving her on the street over the years.
