Wow! my favorite dish. I found that if you fill the cabbage leaves with a mixture made with brown rice that has been toasted first in a little Olive Oil then cooked, herbs, and hamburger, then simmer the stuffed cabbage in tomato sauce, it is just tops. When the hamburger and rice is browned first it adds that special something. We always called it Galuptsi."Pigs in the blanket" (not from pork, but beef wrapped in cabbage leaves), we call it in Russian - "Голубцы" (Galuptsi'), but I believe Polish people call them "Gwumpki".
