Hey Everyone,

The idea for this thread was inspired by the fact that every now and then, I like to take a peek at the Wi-Fi accounts listed around me. No, it's not because I'm trying to "piggyback" off someone with an unsecured network (I have my own that I pay for,) but because I've found that people come up with some really amusing account names! :ROFL:

For instance, I just had a look and some of the current Wi-Fi accounts in my area are called:

* Yo_Mamma

* LesJam

* TheTorturedPoetsApartment

* CupANoodle

* Loading... (which appears to be an actual, deliberate account name -- basically, the username equivalent of a never-ending spinning circle or "thinking" mouse on a computer screen!)

* Nyumbani (which I find very endearing because Google says it means "Home" in Swahili)

* SirBeebsCastle

* BeerCave

And, my current favorite:

* FBI_Surveillance_Van :)ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:)

How about you?

Are there any user or account names you've heard of, seen, or made up that you found particularly entertaining? :)

I am not sure that the FBI_Surveillance_Van is a joke.

That showed up on my computer one night several years ago, and the next day my next door neighbor's home got raided as he was arrested on drug trafficking charges.

True story.

WOW!

Maybe I'd better pull all my shades after all... (I'm just kidding, but I realize what you're saying is serious.)

And to be honest...

In the state I live in, I'd be naive to think I should be surprised.

Thanks for the heads up!

Hello! It possibly might be letting the cat out of the bag. If someone saw 'FBI_Surveillance_Van' on Wi-Fi, they might get rid of their stash pronto! God Bless :)

That's what I thought back then.

Here is a fuller version of what happened.

It was late at night, somewhere around 11:00 pm, and I went to log in on my laptop. When I did, a screen with available WiFi connections popped up, and I recognized all of them (because I had seen them before) but one. The one that said FBI_Surveillance_Van. I did not verbalize anything at that moment, and I brought my laptop with me and showed it to somebody else in another part of the house, and when I verbalized something to the effect of "Hey, look at this...it says FBI_Surveillance_Van," immediately, that option disappeared from the list. This made me wonder if there was not only truly an FBI surveillance van nearby, but it also made me wonder if I was the one they were not only watching, but somehow listening to as well (because that option disappeared the moment I mentioned it verbally). I am not some paranoid guy or anything, but I was very vocal back then where the gospel is concerned, and vocal through several different mediums. Seeing how some of what I was saying or posting pertained to politics, I thought that maybe I was some sort of "person of interest."

Anyhow, as it turned out, the next day, my next door neighbor's house was raided, and he was arrested. I felt really bad about the whole situation because he was not only always nice to me, but he also had a wife and two very young children.

If that WiFi connection truly belonged to the FBI, then they need to do a better job at working undercover, and, seemingly, it did truly belong to them.

In light of my past experience, I am curious to see if anybody gets arrested nearby you some time in the near future. Either way, what are the odds of us both seeing the same WiFi name?

I haven't heard of any raids or arrests yet, but I definitely won't look at that account name the same again.

This morning there is a new contender -- Yer_A_WiFi_Harry

For all the Harry Potter fans out there...

Most of the time I never see anything interesting. But, one time I did. I was living in an apartment near work in a fairly nice neighborhood. One day I noticed a different name pop up: MsRobinsonsSexEmporium.
Well, I just laughed and thought it was the new college students that moved in down the way, I figured that was their sense of humor. They seemed nice enough and always waved at me. I just shrugged it off. That is until I was sitting on my front stoop one evening and seen a woman come out of the apartment across from me. She was dressed for the night (if you know what I mean). A high dollar sports car zoomed up and she got in. As the car sped away, I felt bad for that woman.
I guess the name wasn't a joke :oops:

Holy Chamoly.

Between this and the FBI Van...

Dang.

I just might have to start taking these names at face value. :oops:

And now I can't help but wonder if the "account" name in your story was actually one way of trying to "advertise" for new "clients." :sick:

Noooooo... That's going to be stuck in my head now!
Lynx seems to be an expert in doing that, lol.

And he seems to relish in it along the way. 🤣

For The Gift of Tongs thread, he sent me a short voice clip of him singing the melodized version of the song he came up with in his post

Like a trapped rat 🐀 in a maze, I've been playing it ever since. 🧀 😂

I do not!

Or at least, I don't quote songs with the express intent of getting them stuck in people's heads. I only quote them because they are very fitting to the conversation at hand.

And I think that will be the last recording I do of that song. I only did that one bit because the tune got stuck in my head and I had to get it out into Skype.

But... But... I was just joking...

And I've really been hoping to hear the full version. 🥺
