In Acts chapter 10 verse 39, Peter reports to Cornelius that Jesus was slain and
hanged on a tree. This seems rather inaccurate to me.
So why would he not say crucified on the cross? After all that is an entirely different scenario.
Good point. Some of the earlier translations report that Jesus was handed a shovel (translated shuvell) after they scourged him and they made him dig up a large tree. After digging up the tree, they gave him a pot to put it in (translated paught). After He barely got the tree in the large pot (paught) the Romans tied Him to a cart and He pulled it up the hill. Once up the hill, He had to get the tree out of the pot, dig a hole with the shovel and make sure the tree was sturdy enough to hold his weight. Once it was everything continued as scheduled.

Colossians 1:17
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Colossians 1:17
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Leviticus 17:11
For the life of the flesh
is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for your souls upon the altar; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.

When Peter says Jesus was hung on a tree it's the same thing as saying he was hung on a cross because the tree of life is the blood.
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the water.
And the flame sword that guards the way to the tree of life is the Spirit.

By the Spirit, water, and the blood is how he brings all things unto himself, and so it's everywhere. In his image all things are created.Sorry for being so repetitive talking about the Spirit, water, and the blood.

Jesus is the life,he is the tree of life. And he brings all things unto himself by his hanging on the cross,by hanging on a tree.
This is what Peter is really saying.

The flaming Sword going to and fro guarding the way to the tree of life is the Spirit. All those who are of the Spirit, water and the blood eat the fruit of the tree of life.

John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Not too many trees on Golgotha
A rather silly remark, given the fact that the cross was brought to Golgotha. It was probably constructed in Jerusalem by the Romans. Christ carried it a while, then Simon of Cyrene the rest of the way.

Was it? If it was a tree, then where would they get three trees big enough to hold three grown men (Jesus and two thieves)? Im guessing the trees would have to be close enough to each other so the three could communicate. Have you seen Golgotha and most of the terrain there? No trees big enough, certainly not three together on top of a barren hill. Cmon man 😏

Man, how often I was discussing this question, when I still was a JW.... in the very end, actually - does it make ANY difference? Jesus died for our sins as foreseen. No bones broken, on a wood (and the form does not matter). I tend to say it was either a T form or a cross form - but what difference does it make? I would rather abstain from praying to a cross - which is pagan. Please do not forget that the first Christians sign to recognize each other was the fish (based on Greek). So in the end - no photo exists. What matters is, that he died for us.

Thanks, I got it, God is all in all, I am nothing but a vessel to be used by God willingly only, in being willing can it be real. Just as Jesus said it
Nevertheless Father, not my will, your will be done

The cross was made of wood. So, it is part of a tree. The cross is symbolic of what Christ did for us on Calvary. We draw the sign of the cross. Not tree.

That said, it is both. But we refer to it as a Cross. Throughout the New Testament, it is called the Cross. Not Tree.

Jesus himself referred to it as a Cross and often talks beforehand in the manner in which he would die, "Crucifixion".

Refer Matthew Chapter 16:24 -

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

The OP brought it up and wa obviously disturbed by it. The guy I was replying to said my remark about it was silly since I alleged the thread was senseless, then proceeded to tell me a Bible Captain Obvious story.

Not too many trees on Golgotha 🙄
I thought this was pretty amazing when I saw the image you posted of Golgotha. Not sure how to say this. This is an on earth as it is in heaven type thing. Our first birth we are born of the water, the flesh.
Both men and women urinate water from that area but since women were created in the image of the blood she has a menstrual cycle in that area because she is of the water and the blood.

Golgotha is the place of the skull. The blood of Jesus was shed there. On the living Ark of the Covenant the blood is the head.Get it?

I can't think of any signs that physically happens in that area like in the signs of the water because when we are to be born again we're to be born of the Spirit.Be transformed by the renewal of the mind,so the he only sign of the blood is a spiritual sign.

Yep, that’s a pretty in-depth revelation 👍
