@seoulsearch my suggestion does seem reminiscent of the tech guy asking you, did you plug it in? .

:LOL::ROFL::LOL::ROFL::LOL::ROFL::LOL:
Tried turning my phone sideways... I "think" all the reactions are coming up (thanks very much for the suggestion!) but it's still a blank bar.

So after I tried to calculate which space the reaction I wanted was in -- I was greeted by the stupid "You must wait 3 seconds" notice.

ARGH!!!

I am now able to apply reactions by leaving my finger on the blank reactions' bar after I've determined which one my finger is on... I'm using my finger right now because I'm on my phone LOL I don't know if this would work on my laptop but I imagine it would and this time it didn't even say apply action... But I did have to move my finger to select the word of what the reaction was to make it apply.

PS I am constantly turning my phone this way and that to get different options to show up ... Like to edit I must turn sideways and then to speak into my mic I must turn vertical again it's a little crazy making LOL but after a while you get used to the routine LOL

This won't work on the laptop most likely because the javascript commands work differently on touch screens.

I was able to apply that reaction to your post even though I could not see the reactions and I am on my phone. I ripped a page out of Jerry's book and left my finger on the blank space... I tried to find at least a Positive reaction and when WINNER came out I just held my finger on that spot and then another little message appeared Above All of that and it said apply action ... so I click that and Then the reaction appeared.

The random capitalization of words is something that happens on my phone...
That's exactly what I said. I posted one or two days ago that this method was the only one I found would work.

I just posted a reaction in Chrome browser. If I hold my finger over the blank reaction bar, the words still pop up for what reaction I have my finger on. I just slide my finger until the word I'm looking for appears, and voila!

I just left a friendly reaction to second times post.
Here.

Help spread the word.

Yeah, they didn't use enough words in that text. Just two or three more words would have made it so much clearer.

I am used to be being told you must wait before you can do that but with reactions it was a new thing! PS did you see my miscellaneous post to you about the journey don't stop believing song?

Just discovered something. Now, this is in regards to the 3 second glitch.

As I stated earlier, I switched to Wave from MS Edge. The entire box appeared and stayed visible. I was able to assign a reaction symbol as before. Of course, about a week later the 3 second glitch appeared.

A few minutes ago I hovered over the box to appear. I chose an icon, clicked on it and held for 3 seconds, released, then had the chosen icon appear in the post. I found out that you actually have to wait for 3 seconds before releasing or otherwise the same message will appear. Did it successfully for 5 or 6 times and this method seems to work each time.

Hope this is of some help to you and the others with the same frustrating problem.
Looks like we broke the code, lol, good job👍

Technology is the worst because it changes too fast.
No one wants to really actually thoroughly test their software before they put it out there for others to have to deal with it...

100% correct.
The days of testing are long gone.
The general population is now the test group.
I mentioned Steve Jobs earlier because he was OCD about this stuff and almost “dictatorial” in the way he treated his staff because he demanded a lot from them, but when the customer received a product it was almost perfect.

Apple has fallen short since the Steve days but windows has become a joke since Bill left. Bill had his strong vision too and now windows has become an OS with an identity crisis. It’s going through its midlife crisis. Lol

Nobody cares about the customer experience anymore and internal testing.
You just get whatever these folks think about or feel like pushing out to the population without any regards or what they could break.
BAM you got a new feature without anybody asking and it broke 10 other things.
Enjoy!

That’s the IT world nowadays. Everyone is obsessed with the cloud and nobody does any onprem work anymore.
It’s like switching from manual driving to automatic driving but worse, like self driving with “ai” so you don’t even touch the wheel.
It’s crazy .

interesting. I am having the same difficulty, but on the notification bar too, and the screen is not showing right, things are not going off screen, just building up unt copying into docs is the only way to read posts or replys.

Each time that's 3 seconds of your life that you can never get back...
and for every 20 times that happens, it's one minute of your life you never get back...
 makes one wonder just how many minutes of our lives have been lost just playing with/waiting on these reactions/emojis?
