That 'you must wait 3 seconds before posting' is getting worse, at least on my browsers. I know I already started a similar Thread, but just saying that this pop-up is acting more like a virus than a glitch. It stops me from posting any react emojis now at all, after trying & waiting several times. I've contacted 2 Mods so I hope this will be an easy fix. Btw, did anyone figure out how to stop it🙏, lol ?

Same problem here. This is similar to the problem with the empty reaction box, icons flash briefly, than disappear. Now, it teases you by showing the icons in the box but will not allow you to use them. About 1 attempt in 50 will let me assign a reaction icon. Very strange. Can't figure what I am doing right in these rare instances. Very frustrating for sure.

I am pretty sure that this is not a virus but if you can post a screenshot of the problem, i can confirm.
The 3 second issue happens to me from time to time when i post reactions quickly in the funny meme thread in the family section.

I am still having this problem even after switching to another browser ( from MS Edge to Wave). Wave corrected the problem of the reaction box being blank, and for a few days it allowed me to assign various reaction icons but now the 3 second advisory keeps appearing. For some reason, about 1 in 25 times it works, otherwise, despite how long you wait, you can't give anything besides a 'like'. If anyone has found a solution I would gladly appreciate it.

Use firefox for now. Seems to be working well.

Firefox is fine for me also, no reaction issues at all, aside from normal ones. Someone mentioned being able to select a reaction by hovering over the blank spaces where they should be, but that certainly does not work for me. I do see when the name or title of the ractions displays, but that does not mean I can select it when the reaction itself is not visible at all. Edge is still a no go, as is my phone.

That's the same experience for me with Edge. I can hover and see the display text on the emoji, but not the emoji itself. And i can't click them either.
Firefox works well because it's running a different engine called Gecko.
There's another browser which is even more lightweight than Firefox called PaleMoon, which is portable. Meaning you don't have to even install it. Just run the EXE.
But that's built on the same engine too so no reason to even use it.

I (and my friend the HS😂) found a workaround but for my duckduckgo browser, where you can see the reacts. I sit on the one I want and when this🚫appears I let go, tap again and my selection appears. Idk if you saw what Magenta suggested for MS, to tap&hold on someone's selection already posted, like a ❤ or 😃 for example, and it will post it.

I appreciate that everyone is posting the different workarounds they're using.

It seems like such a small thing, but not being able to select the right reactions is really hindering the enjoyment of catching up with the forum.

Right now NOTHING is working right for me (phone, Opera, DuckDuckgo, Chrome, regular Firefox) EXCEPT a private browsing window in Firefox -- thank you very much @Eli1 for recommending this!

Fingers crossed as to how long that will be before it has a glitch, too.

I can maneuver ddgo with the hold til this🚫 appears, tap emo again and voila'. I have contacted the Mod Squad as I think other members have. They seemed unaware at first this was a thing. I have faith in them🙏🙏🙏😂

Thanks for alerting the mods -- hopefully it will all be straightened out soon.

I use DuckDuckGo on my phone but not laptop, and for my phone version at least, that little symbol never pops up. The bar pops up but appears blank, and every time I try to guess which space to tap for the reaction I want, it's always wrong -- even though I have a picture of all the reactions and am trying to tap the right spot according to their order.

In my phone, it doesn't show them all in one line -- you have to scroll over -- and that seems to throw the alignment out of whack. (Yes, I'm trying to guess the right placement even with the picture of all the reactions right in front of me but so far, I'm only having epic fails.)

It's stopping me from leaving any reactions on a lot of posts because it's so easy to accidentally post the wrong one (I don't want to accidentlly leave the "vomiting" emoji on a heartfelt story someone has shared!)

Technology is the worst because it changes too fast. And a lot of people don't like change.
I want to create a company which makes an operating system where the interface never changes. I mean never.
Like, i would keep the Windows 95 start menu basically, 30 years or even 300 years the same, without changing how it looks except with new shortcuts on new updates. But the layout and the structure would be the same.

Have you tried turning your phone sideways? They all show up for me at once when I do that...

Um, that is, when they showed up at all LOL

LOL I had a thought along those lines very recently. And lots of people jump
on the next new thing, out with the old, in with the new, so fast it is cray cray.

And then those old things people were happy to ditch sometimes become worth
lots down the line. My daughter is preparing to move house and came across
some holographic box a game came in. She sold it for something like 200 dollars?
The box was in fairly pristine condition, though the game did not work any more.

That's the thing. If you develop 'tradition' in technology then it will stick.
A few have done this but i hope someone does it again, because i don't have the money or the energy or the time to do a startup company now.

Steve Jobs had this mindset and a lot of people hated him because he was very stubborn but he was also a visionary.
He basically shut down adobe flash by starting a war with them and HTML5 emerged, but he never changed the aesthetics of their OS or devices. It was all about OCD and details because he was a perfectionist and studied calligraphy which is why he knew that people like aesthetics and don't like a lot of change.
Look at the iPhone. The design is pretty much the same since the first version. Like, you can tell it's in iPhone right away.
That's tradition! People like the comfort of the same old thing without too much change.

Just discovered something. Now, this is in regards to the 3 second glitch.

As I stated earlier, I switched to Wave from MS Edge. The entire box appeared and stayed visible. I was able to assign a reaction symbol as before. Of course, about a week later the 3 second glitch appeared.

A few minutes ago I hovered over the box to appear. I chose an icon, clicked on it and held for 3 seconds, released, then had the chosen icon appear in the post. I found out that you actually have to wait for 3 seconds before releasing or otherwise the same message will appear. Did it successfully for 5 or 6 times and this method seems to work each time.

Hope this is of some help to you and the others with the same frustrating problem.

I was able to apply that reaction to your post even though I could not see the reactions and I am on my phone. I ripped a page out of Jerry's book and left my finger on the blank space... I tried to find at least a Positive reaction and when WINNER came out I just held my finger on that spot and then another little message appeared Above All of that and it said apply action ... so I click that and Then the reaction appeared.

The random capitalization of words is something that happens on my phone...
