It's very telling the state of what is considered christendom when so many that say they are Christians.... are taping their toes to and enjoying worldly music
It's too bad to see so many being friends with the world... as though there not a lot of really good Christian music out there they could be listening to instead rather than putting the darkness of this world into their minds, and emotions. SMH View attachment 257021
James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Yeh but I thought God reveals Himself through creation. Secular music, is still an act of creation. Those that have a close relationship with the Lord based on what the Lord says in His Word... know.
Why would he be taping his toe? Did he injure it? Or is he planning to dance ballet? And what does it mean "to along with you"?If you are listening to secular music... you be listening to evil music.
You know music that satan enjoys that he's taping his toe to along with you.
Oh that is not what James 4 was saying. The "friendship of the world" is a desire for a relationship with those who reject God and His word.
I was saved for years and still listened to Acid Rock.. Christ never ever condemned me judge said a word.

Maybe I don't want to know....
Exactly. I had the same thought about the bands I liked when I was dealing with this back in the 80s.Yeh but I thought God reveals Himself through creation. Secular music, is still an act of creation.
Plus whatever is true, lovely, admirable( Jimi Hendrix was phenomenal on that guitar, I cannot not admire his style and talent) and Beethoven, and Prince was excellent. I think on those things. Its a gift from God, I think how well they play, seemingly without even trying...
I still like some secular. But since Jesus Christ came into my life I also enjoy Christian music too. I can identify with what some of them are saying.Exactly. I had the same thought about the bands I liked when I was dealing with this back in the 80s.
Unfortunately for me, I found few Christian bands that write the sort of music I like (80s wave, post-punk). There are a few, but only a few (Declaration and Mad at the World are the only ones I found to date).I still like some secular. But since Jesus Christ came into my life I also enjoy Christian music too. I can identify with what some of them are saying.
But it's not a topic per se, it's a cudgel that The Jimmy is waving at anyone who disagrees with him.@JimmyTheLock
I agree with you about what you said about 2 Timothy.
Indeed one way He speaks to us is the through Word of God.
Some secular stuff invites temptation I agree. Especially for the weaker amongst us. But so does certain food if I’m on a diet. And perhaps women if I was a man.
I agree if it hurts us don’t go near it. Or it we can’t avoid if we ask for help and He will show us a way out.
Good topic.![]()
And, if secular music is doing that to someone I know, I won't play it. But, if I believe their walk is secure, I'll let God deal with them on that.Yes, and then some things we do... can be a stumbling block to others and cause them to fall.
Those claiming to be Christians who listen to secular music never think about that.

While thinking, you're cameo suggests nothing Godly or holy but rather gives weird vibes, unless it holds a Divine meaning no one is aware of.Mean while you are still violating God's Word by listening to secular music
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Oh you ol' Jimmy you. C'mere... gimme a smooch.Mean while you are still violating God's Word by listening to secular music

I did upload some images of statues that might make good idols for the jimmy-god.While thinking, you're cameo suggests nothing Godly or holy but rather gives weird vibes, unless it holds a Divine meaning no one is aware of.
