Hillary Clinton says country is in 'full-fledged crisis' during speech in Selma to mark 'Bloody Sunday'

Former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton offered a stark view of the country on Sunday, comparing the current “crisis in our democracy” to the turbulence that occurred amid the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.

Speaking during a reception in Selma, Ala. to mark the 45th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday” and to receive the International Unity Award at the Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King Unity Breakfast, Clinton said that the United States is facing a "full-fledged crisis in our democracy."

"This is a time, my friends, when fundamental rights, civic virtue, freedom of the press, the rule of law, truth, facts and reason are under assault," Clinton said, according to the Hill.

Clinton is one of a number of Democratic leaders in Selma this weekend for the ceremonies surrounding the “Bloody Sunday” anniversary.

While Clinton did not specifically mention President Trump in her speech, she said that “racist and white supremacist views” have been buoyed by the current administration and warned that civil and voting rights were under attack in the U.S.

"To anyone who has ever wondered what you would have done during those defining moments that we read about in history books -- whether you would have risked arrest to demand votes for women or bled on the Edmund Pettus bridge to demand voting rights for all -- the answer is what you are doing now could be as important as anything that anyone has done before," Clinton said.

the only crisis we are facing is the attempted move to push into socialism, with open borders, and a green new deal, to combat non-existent climate change.

I could also add, many folks in this country are foolish enough to think that polar bears can't swim and carbon dioxide is bad for the atmosphere. that to is a crisis.

Yes, Hillary is just primping and pumping getting ready to try to impeach Trump. That is what all the Democrats are working on. If they can't find any wrongdoing, I am sure they will make some up. :(

listen...is killing live babies better? or allowing anyone and everyone into the country? if you think so, ask someone who lost a person they loved to an illegal and see what they say and check out the Bible regarding child sacrifice to the devil

if America is in a state of chaos I sure wouldn't blame someone who has only been in office 2 years and those 2 years under persecution

I might look at the last 8 yrs before that though...

God can use whoever He wants. apparently, He did not choose Hillary

The crisis we have is for the souls of men and women. Ms. Clinton doesn't have much time to disassociate herself from a political party that murders their own young, divides people in order to conquer, and seeks to establish a singular power base. Personally I think her soul has been paid in full.

Please don't be fooled by churches that redefine what God instructs as sin. Don't listen to clergy that preach politics from the pulpit. Don't attend churches concerned with self improvement. Don't give an ear to anyone who seeks to divide God's children blaming one for this thing and another for that. Get away from it all. Don't touch it. It's unclean.

We are at war. I hope I run toward the battle and not away. I hope I have the courage.

I really don't understand why Harper was voted out. He seemed to be a strong leader for the country,huge support for Israel. Next thing I heard he was out.

Ms. Clinton agreed with abortion and said Margret Sanger was a woman she admired. It's not just her party,it's her belief too.

Do you believe Jesus? Do you believe the Bible?

Do you believe what Jesus and the Bible say about where the world is headed?

Do you believe it's reasonable to expect that the world will reach it's final state by being led by righteous leaders?

So, why are we still arguing about which road is going to get us there?

Right or left, the ultimate destination is the same.
