Since 2016 millions (possibly billions) of dollars down the drain and hundreds of thousands of man-hours wasted on grandstanding, stupidity and foolishness. Who would have imagined that those who were elected to govern would turn out to be a bunch of clowns who could not even provide entertainment to the masses?

i think most of the dems knew this was a doomed effort when chief justice roberts, no friend of trump's by any means, declined to preside over the hearing , as he was constitutionally required to do...

The frightening thing is that they do fear the voters. They reveal great evil and hatred but no fear of God or the voters. What kind of people vote for these people?

I honestly do not know who votes for these people. How does an AOC not only get into office but drive the radical lefts agenda so much so that Pelosi and Biden are afraid to go against her?! A barmaid!! All I can say is when the Bible speaks of a strong delusion it was speaking of today.

it is not over they are looking now to prosecute Trump, in a court of law. The Democrats have no answer for the Pandemic, they are recalling the Governor of CA my state, and schools (stunts) are suing schools district and teachers unions. This all being done as we are not seeing the hostility coming from China. The next big thing will be the financial collapse of our economy. The printing of money will break the middle class and it will take us 10 years to come out of it. Both GOP and DNC are to blame AFTER the person in the Mirror we allowed this to happen because our nation has put its finger in the Eye of God and laughed. They mocked and scoffed His holy Sayings. many supported homosexuality, addictions, divorce, and abortion.

Now God will laugh back at you ( the nation's leaders ) when you seek help He will not answer you.

Actually Trump should countersue immediately (if it ever comes to that), and claim millions in damages to his name and reputation. Then he should bring charges against all the conspirators who orchestrated a coup against him over a four-year period.

Normally guilty verdicts rendered by the US Senate when impeaching a US
President cannot be appealed. But this time, the accused is a private citizen;
which means Mr. Trump may have solid legal grounds for an appeal should
this fiasco go south on him.

In my opinion; the United States government is behaving like uneducated
hillbillies in this matter, and I can't help but wonder what the rest of the
world is thinking about our stability right about now.

where does it say a Former POTUS doesn't have Due process? those of you with TDS fail to see even with this last failed Scubala to get Trump did not even have the SCJOTS to preside over. Secondly, Even the democrats know the courts would throw it out.

No, he did not you are ignorant, there has to be a Supreme court Justice to preside over the impeachment of the POTUS, The Chief justice to be exact. FYI there was none.

It's common practice-- within Local, State, and Federal government, and
among private citizens --to assume that if something isn't explicitly
forbidden by law, then it's okay to do it. However; the 10th Amendment
says otherwise.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor
prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to
the people."

The key word in that is "delegated".

In a nutshell: the only powers that the House and the Senate may exercise
are those delegated to it by the Constitution. Seeing as how the Constitution
doesn't delegate power to either the House or the Senate to impeach former
federal officials; then they have no right to.

In other words: the Constitution must say that it's okay for the federal
government to impeach a former public officer. The Constitution's silence on
the matter is not a green light to proceed, rather, it's just the opposite;
which means that if my understanding of the 10th Amendment is correct,
then Mr. Trump's impeachment was illegal and no more Constitutional than a
necktie party because the House and the Senate exceeded their authority
when they subjected Mr. Trump to impeachment.

Also-- if my understanding of the 10th Amendment is correct --had Chief
Justice Roberts chosen to preside over the impeachment of a former
president, he would've exceeded his authority too because the Constitution
only delegates him to preside over the impeachments of presidents in office.

When Justice Roberts declined to preside, his explanation was, in so many
words: There is no trial. You see; his primary obligation is to apply the US
Constitution's say in all cases that come before him. Had Congress honored
Justice Robert's decision, instead of taking the law into their own hands, Mr.
Trump's impeachment would've ended right then and there.

We should all be very concerned that our legislators in Washington have
given themselves the liberty to act as a lynch mob.
