@HealthAndHappiness I now that your mom is reposed. In eastern-orthodox tradition we pray for the dead as well, because all are alive by God. Here an example of this prayer for the repose of the souls of the departed by Elder Eusebius Vitti (translated from Greek,
source).
Remember, our Lord Jesus Christ, through the prayers of Your Most Holy Mother, the Lady Theotokos (God-bearer) and Immaculate Mary, Your departed servants, and forgive them, give rest and raise up their souls and bodies to the resurrection of life on Your last day
(the General Resurrection). Remember, Lord:
¯ Of all times and all places of Your dominion Your departed children.
¯ Unburied and buried people.
¯ Aborted and abandoned children.
¯ All whom no one remembers.
¯ All despised and forgotten souls.
¯ All who died for the Orthodox faith and the Fatherland.
¯ All those who have left this life today and until today.
¯ All the souls remembered today.
¯ All our relatives, friends and family.
¯ All those tortured in wars and Asia Minor.
Remember, Lord, also Your handmaiden (
your mom).
