The “born again” experience
is being baptized into Christ’s church by the Holy Spirit …
"For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body
(the church) ...
and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)
In this experience, the Holy Spirit comes INSIDE the believer …
John 14:16-23, Rom. 8:11, 1 Cor. 3:16, Gal. 4:6, 2 Tim. 1:14, 1 John 3:24, 1 John 4:12-16.

The “baptism with the Holy Spirit” experience
is being given an anointing by Jesus Christ (as prophesied by John the Baptist) …
Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16, John 1:33.
In this experience, the Holy Spirit comes UPON the believer …
Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 8:14-19, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 11:15-17, Acts 19:6.

Everyone knows when a person is born again, the Holy Spirit comes INSIDE the believer.
Now, let’s look at the 7 passages where the Holy Spirit comes UPON the believer:

”Behold, I send the Promise of My Father UPON you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem
until you are endued with (spiritual) power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)

”… you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. But you shall
receive (spiritual) power when the Holy Spirit has come UPON you” (Acts 1:4-8)

“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled
the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues,
as of fire, and one sat UPON each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4)

“Peter and John … prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
For as yet He had fallen UPON none of them. They had only been baptized
in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received
the Holy Spirit. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands
the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this (spiritual) power also,
that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 8:14-19)

“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell UPON all those who heard
the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came
with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out ON the Gentiles also.
For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.” (Acts 10:44-46)

“And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell UPON them, as upon us at the beginning.
Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water,
but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If therefore God gave them the same
gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ …” (Acts 11:15-17)

“And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came UPON them,
and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.” (Acts 19:6)

So, we see that the baptism with the Holy Spirit occurs when the Holy Spirit
comes UPON a person. These 7 passages reveal that it is called “the Promise”
of the Father, and “the gift” of the Holy Spirit, and is accompanied by such things as:
spiritual power, laying on of hands, filled with the Holy Spirit, tongues, and prophecy.

So, isn’t it obvious that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is a different experience
than being born again? It is called “the second blessing”

Born-again believers are encouraged to seek this baptism of anointing and spiritual power!

If it is required … remember the Persistent Widow of Luke 18:1-5, and the Ask-Seek-Knock of Matthew 7:7-8, and especially Luke 11:13 … “how much more will your heavenly Father
give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” <<< IMO, this refers to the baptism with the Holy Spirit;
whoever asks God to be regenerated, to be born again, and to receive the Holy Spirit (inside)?

IMO, God just does all of this … without anyone asking for it to be done!

Hmm "IMO, God just does all of this … without anyone asking for it to be done!"

Paul, He asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed [in Jesus as the Christ]?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” Same thing with me. They asked if I wanted the holy spirit.. I had to ask. The 120+ were told by Christ to wait for the promise and all were already saved. I like my Elder bother Peter would say to someone that wanted to be saved.. “Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Hard to receive something you do not believe in. The Father never forces. My two cents.. not here to debate this..

It appears that understanding the HS transitioned from Pentecost in Acts to the later letters of Paul, which we could study sometime if folks are interested.

I agree that God never forces, but He came close by striking Paul down on the road to Damascus--presumably because God wanted Paul to be the apostle to the Gentiles and author of most of the NT.

Believe Son took away sin all sin at his death, once for us all. That is done on the death in John 19:30. then new life, he got risen and seen as risen by over 500 witnesses
Between God and each person personally, this be a gift beyond measure of any understanding to me. I see it and now ceded, stopped trying to do it myself. Seeing "I" can't, no-one can.
Therefore Father God through Son first took away all sin for us, not in your sight, none of you or me, in Father's view to us all. We are reconciled, forgiven
In Daddy's PaPa's sight John 1:29, John 19:30, Matthew 5:17 fulfilled. Death was for to be reconciled (2 Cor 5:16-20) first as forgiven from God Father through Son once for us all as Done, finished
His Job here on earth completed when he took on all sin for us all in Daddy's sight now to us all.
So we can now enter Father's Courts in thanksgiving and praise and ask for the new way inn Dady's Spirit and Truth to just love as God does. How does God love? Well

Son, willingly went to that cross without a flesh fight back at all. He did not do anything back to all those people mocking him, none!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know he could have, we all know he could have and yet didn't. What if he would have?
I am incredibly thankful he did not fight back
If this world here were his, he said that to Peter, he would then fight, he did not did he? Are we to fight then now or not? You decide I have.
Such a perplexity between flesh, first born nature and second birth given to us by Father only in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24)

Start at the beginning, God simply loves us all otherwise he would not have got Son to go to that cross willingly?
Remember what he said to pilot, after Pilot said to him, do you know I have the power of life and death for you?
Replied, Jesus said you only have this power for now, since by my Father it is allowed. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can we start viewing troubles this way too, happening, happened to us too, Thank you Lord
Might be why we are told to be thankful in all things, Wow Father teach me contentment in all things?
God will, and does for each person that choses between God and them to believe in risen Son for he has taken away all sin, ALL on that cross and then is risen where your new life begins in love and mercy to all, at least for me this I finally see. And am still learning new daily
Psalm 103:12 is that prophesy done or not in Son for you too. Thank you, Father and Son as Won
